In a series of now-deleted tweets he shared on Twitter, Ford lamented the fact that the woman in question didn't "let" Laavion Goings Jr. steal her belongings – because had she done so, then Goings might still be alive. Not only that, but Ford also claimed in another corresponding tweet that conservatives were "thrilled" that the woman shot Goings, seeing as how they love firearms so much.
"Conservatives are thrilled a woman with a concealed-carry permit shot and killed a 19-year-old would-be mugger," were Ford's exact words. "That's not how justice works. The penalty for theft is not death, nor do we want it to be," he added, insinuating that self-defense is somehow akin to the criminal justice system, overriding lesser penalties for theft as they might be handed down to a guilty party in a court of law.
Instead of stopping this tirade and deleting such nonsense, Ford went on with even more tweets propelling the life of Goings above that of the woman who he might have murdered, had she not taken care of him before he acted on his felonious impulses.
"I just feel like we're being way too disposable with his life," Ford wrote, showing no regard whatsoever for the life of the woman whom Goings was in the process of robbing and potentially murdering.
"A gun death is a gun death, and the fact that she was able to protect herself in no way motivates me to change my belief that she should not have had a gun in the first place."

Naturally, Ford received an incredible amount of backlash on Twitter from users who were astounded that he would suggest a woman let herself be victimized in order to not make guns look good. Not long after, Ford deleted all of the offending tweets and tried to claim that he never wrote them at all.
"I want to offer both some apologies and clarifications about a poorly-worded tweet I sent about an incident of gun violence," Ford wrote. "I have since deleted the tweet."
In his own defense, Ford tried to claim that he does believe that "people have the right to defend themselves," adding that he "ignored the context" of what took place against the woman "in a neighborhood with high rates of violence." Ford didn't, however, explain that he initially failed to mention the fact that Goings had attempted to rob the woman at gunpoint.
Ford went on to say that his tweet about conservatives being happy about Goings' death "was not my intention, and I apologize."
In Ford's view, the world would be a much better place if guns did "not have to be a part of anyone's daily life and in which gun deaths are not a part of our daily news" – this being the alleged intent of his earlier tweets. But as a typical Leftist, Ford failed once again to acknowledge that guns do exist; bad people do use them; and good people do need them in order to protect themselves by any means necessary.
"The left doesn't understand that people are responsible for the outcomes of their own behavior," writes Karista Baldwin for Western Journal. "They'd prefer that a woman be unable to defend herself than admit that guns can be used for good."
