Take a look at the new law that just went into effect in New York wherein a child can be aborted all the way up until their due date, or even during birth! New York Democrats were seen cheering in the state senate’s chambers when it passed while the rest of us wondered exactly how society has gotten to this heartless place.
The outrageous legislation, which was signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo, even allows non-physicians to carry out abortions, making it even easier for babies to be killed – despite the fact that health professionals say third-term abortions are never truly necessary and that children should just be delivered at that point. The Reproductive Health Act would allow abortions for reasons extending beyond health to age, emotional, social and economic factors.
Other states to follow New York’s lead
The governor of Virginia, Democrat Ralph Northam, is fully on board with the concept, giving his support earlier this week to legislation in his own state’s assembly that will repeal the current restrictions governing when an abortion can legally be carried out. The new bill, known as the Repeal Act, would legalize abortion all the way up to the point of a natural, full-term delivery.
The legislation also removes the current requirement for three doctors to agree the woman needs a late-term abortion to save her own health; just the mother herself and the abortion doctor would need to consent under a provision in the new bill.
Then, Governor Northam seemed to imply that mothers and abortion doctors could end a baby’s life even after it was born when he said: “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”
Where is the pushback from others in his party? When Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked about Governor Northam’s endorsement of infanticide this week in an interview, she claimed to not know what they were talking about and immediately called on a different reporter, swiftly changing the subject and closing the door on the possibility of condemning the remarks or the bill itself.
This is infanticide no matter how you look at it. It goes way beyond what any reasonable person could ever say is a moral gray area – for example, some people might argue about the morning after pill or whether or not a fetus feels pain. This, on the other hand, is cut and dry; it’s delivering a baby alive and then asking its mother whether she wants it to live or not. In what world is killing a newborn baby acceptable?
Predictably, liberal cable networks like MSNBC and CNN ignored Governor Northam’s comments entirely in their prime time programming, while broadcast networks like CBS, NBC and ABC also failed to call him out for his comments. It looks like they’re really only concerned about young people when guns or immigration are involved and it can further their political agenda.
The same liberals who insist that immigrants deserve a chance refuse to give that same chance to infants. Where is the outrage?
