But of course, no opposition to the Left goes unpunished, and the group is already facing backlash from other, more liberal employees.
In a posting made to Facebook's internal message board, Amerige commented on the liberal company's mob mentality when it comes to political ideologies. The senior engineer reportedly wrote, "We are a political monoculture that's intolerant of different views."
"We claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack -- often in mobs -- anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology," he continued. According to Amerige's memo, the point of the FB'ers for Political Diversity group is to give employees a space for ideological diversity within the company.
But, as you might expect, a group where opposition to liberalism thrives is a group that is going to be accused of being hateful. An anonymous source from Facebook told the U.K.-based Independent that minority employees have already filed complaints that the group is "offensive."
The pervasiveness of the left-wing's narrative that any opposition is automatically offensive shows here. But, the complainers were at least told that the group was not, in fact, breaking company rules. Another source told the Independent that the group appeared to be very constructive and inclusive of all viewpoints.
In the past, conservative Facebook employees weren't quite so lucky. As Business Insider recalls, Facebook has shutdown conservative groups in the past. Facebook Anon was one such group, after it became more of a hub for Trump-supporting employees to chat during the election season. By December 2016, the group was dismantled because the conversation "alarmed management."
As President Donald Trump recently stated, "Google and Twitter and Facebook, they're really treading on very, very troubled territory, and they have to be careful."
Recall the firing of Google employee James Damore: The former Google engineer was fired for writing a memo that called out the company's ideological echo chamber, and their unfair treatment of employees with differing political ideals. Damore has since filed suit against the company, stating that the company discriminates against conservatives.
Damore's firing was only the beginning: Not only is Silicon Valley trying to purge itself of non-liberal employees, tech companies are now literally trying to scrub conservative voices from the internet entirely. Democrat politicians are already advocating for the silencing of so-called dissenting views -- and total government control of the internet. A memo from Democrat senators reveals that they're already working on legislation for a government takeover of social media.
The censorship of Alex Jones and other conservatives who've been banned or suspended without actual cause across social media, like Gavin McInnes, is proof that the left-wing is becoming increasingly intolerant of their opposition. While social media networks like Twitter and Facebook allege that conservatives are guilty of "hate speech" and other crimes -- Antifa, a violent group of left-wing extremists, has yet to suffer the same fate.
A fringe element of Antifa just announced their plans to attack and assault patriots in a "paramilitary" effort to combat conservatives on the streets of Austin, Texas. Known as "The Red Guards Austin," the group is described as "a Marxist–Leninist–Maoist violent Antifa group." When will Facebook suspend them for violating community standards?
