The reality is, people on the Left very often behave the way they claim their political opponents do, and then justify their racist, bigoted, homophobic and intolerant behavior on the dubious claim that the opponent somehow deserves it.
Much like Democrat racists 60, 70, 80 years ago justified treating black people terribly: They saw them the way they see Trump supporters and Republicans today; somewhat less than human.
Case in point — or, rather, the latest case in point — involves a driver for Uber who, because he did not like the pro-Trump “Make America Great Again” hats two of them were carrying, decided he couldn’t ‘serve’ them.
As reported by Fox News:
Several interns on Capitol Hill for a program geared toward young black Republicans said an Uber driver refused to give them a ride together in Washington this week because two of them were carrying pro-Trump “Make America Great Again” hats.
The incident unfolded Tuesday, according to the interns, when they piled into an Uber to head to a monthly gathering of supporters of the president at the Trump International Hotel in Washington.
The network added that in interviews, three of the interns pointed out that the Uber driver initially picked them up at George Washington University. However, the driver then began asking them about their red “MAGA” hats, and suddenly announced he could not give them a ride.
The interns, who have been working for GOP lawmakers over the summer, said the driver forced them to get out of his vehicle.
In 21st century America, now you need to have the ‘correct’ political view to fully participate in society. For many, if they veer off the Democratic Party plantation they will be shunned, banned, censored, mistreated, harangued, denigrated and even attacked. Contacted by Fox News, Uber officials said, “We aim to provide a reliable service to everyone who uses Uber. We have reached out to both the rider and the driver, and continue to look into this.”
One of the three interns who also had a Trump hat — Matthew Handy of Kentucky, 20 — said the incident had him “ticked off.”
“I’m a black male in America that supports and voted for Donald Trump… We’re supposed to be a country that accepts everybody for who they are, a melting pot, but the moment I say or do something that doesn’t coincide with their political beliefs, I’m the bad guy,” Handy, who is serving as an intern to Rep. Mike Bost, R-Ill., said, according to Fox News.

Handy tweeted after the incident, “I requested an @Uber to go to a monthly DC MAGA meet-up at Trump Hotel; held my faithful red MAGA hat in my hand. Mr. Sadou looked at me and rudely said; “I cannot take this ride.” He had no right to refuse service, especially after the payment was accepted. @Uber, unacceptable!”
For its part, Uber tweeted back and asked Handy to direct message the company so officials could get more information. The appropriate response, for sure, but the fact remains it should not have happened in the first place.
A second passenger, Adria Barrington of Tallahassee, interning this summer for Rep. David Schweikert, R-Ariz., said the incident was frightening to her.
As for Handy, he’s not going to be satisfied with inaction or cheap tweeted words. He wants nothing less than “a statement” from the driver “and I want him fired.”
This is getting to be a habit for Left-wing Uber drivers. Another one kicked members of the Young Republicans out of his car after stranding them at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. As he drove off he said, "Welcome to the resistance."
