Though viewership was down from previous years, 103 million people still watched the game. That means that one-third of the country, give or take a few million, was subjected to a not-so-covert Left-wing political message in the form of a T-Mobile ad that came straight out of the Democratic Party socialist playbook.
As noted by Tyler O’Neil at PJ Media, “American capitalism” was well represented during the game with companies spending king’s ransoms just for a 30- or 60-second moment in time to get your attention.
Most ads were on the up-and-up and some gave a chuckle, but T-Mobile decided to go all-in for the Leftist political angle, ticking off one favored Democratic talking point after another.
“You come with open minds and the instinct that we are equal," said actress Kerry Washington as the spot began, while the camera panned from one baby to the next. "Some people may see your differences and be threatened by them, but you are unstoppable.”
Cue the politics, and loudly. "You’ll love who you want," Washington continued, as the camera panned over a black baby boy. "You’ll demand fair and equal pay," she added, with a white baby girl in the foreground. "You will not allow where you come from to dictate where you’re going,” she then said, in what was the least political of the three statements, O’Neil correctly pointed out. (Related: Alt-Left waging “cyber jihad” and a “propaganda war” to destroy the American republic.)
Then the ad concluded with a call to activism for babies. “You will be heard, not dismissed. You will be connected, not alone. Change starts now. Are you with us? T-Mobile.”
The underlying message: If you’re not ‘with us,’ you’re ‘against us.’ Also: If you’re not ‘with us,’ you must also be ‘against’ our issues.
As you might suspect, company boss CEO John Legere was all-in for the spot and its overtly political message over one that, say, touted the company’s wireless phone and Internet services. He, like all arrogant liberals (and not a few NFL players last year) obviously thought fans tuned into the biggest football game of the year only to be subjected to political indoctrination and propaganda.
“…[S]omething remarkable is happening right now. Change is in the air. And, this moment in history calls for something different. Something more impactful. Something more meaningful,” he wrote in a company blog post.
What “change?” What’s the “moment in history” he’s referring to?
“T-Mobile has always stood for inclusivity. For equality. And for challenging convention,” he continued.
Did you catch that irony?
First of all, Left-wing socialist-liberals aren’t “inclusive;” if you do not share their worldview, i.e., you are conservative or libertarian, then you are not included on their ‘list of inclusivity.’ You are ostracized, shunned, mocked, and incessantly criticized.
Secondly, you can’t ‘stand for inclusivity’ while at the same time you ‘challenge convention.’ That last part is just dog whistling among liberals — code words used to mask the fact that they’re working overtime to destroy every last vestige of American pride in our country.
The underlying, unspoken message is, ‘If you’re not someone who holds our ideology and looks at society, politics, and culture like we do, you’re our enemy.’
Which of course completely blows the ‘inclusivity’ lie out of the water.
Look, T-Mobile is an independent company and can run any ads it pleases (so long as the majority of its shareholders don’t see any problem with them).
But for cripes' sake, its CEO should stop insulting our intelligence with his phony messages of ‘inclusion.’ We know he doesn’t mean it.
