(NaturalNews) That much of Hollywood and the political Left in America nearly worships President Barack Obama, almost as a cult figure more than a president, has been patently obvious since even before his first election. Celebrities especially have fawned over Obama, treating him more like a rock star or a messiah than a president.
You may recall a video produced by one of his biggest fawning fans, Oprah Winfrey, after the president took office in 2009. Called "I Pledge," the
video "features a gaggle of celebrities telling viewers all the good they promise to do for humanity. But toward the end, it drifts into a pledge of support for Obama - the kind of rhetoric that befits a political convention spot as opposed to a public service message,"
The Blaze reported.
'I pledge to be a servant' of ObamaOne star, Red Hot Chili Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis, says, "I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama," before kissing his right bicep.
And, after several celebrities begin invoking intentions to "be the change" (sound familiar?), actress Demi Moore finished by saying, "I pledge to be a servant to our president."
For some strange reason, the Hudson (Wis.) School District resurrected this cult-like "I Pledge" video for its recent Peace One Day event, and understandably, a number of parents who attended were outraged.
And in response, District and school officials backpedaled quickly, apologizing to those offended by the video, according to local
KMSP-TV.
"The reason the video was used was to show students small ways to make a difference in their communities," the district wrote in an apology. "Unfortunately, the video also had a political slant. The district is non-partisan and does not endorse the political messages found in this video. This video will not be used in the district again."
In an announcement, Middle School Principal Dan Koch said this to students:
The 'I Pledge' video we viewed yesterday included some messages about serving President Barack Obama. We apologize for any part of the video that was offensive to students, their families and staff. The video conveyed a message that people serve the presidency when in fact our elected officials serve the people. We respect the Office of the President of the United States but like all of our other elected officials, that office serves each of us as well. I sincerely hope that as participants in Wednesday's event what you took away from the experience was to choose to make a difference in your world. The school district never did say who's idea it was to use the video, but in the local TV station's report, it was clear that a number of people interviewed weren't thrilled by it.
"It looks a little 1940s Germany," says one interviewee, who agrees that it's essentially propaganda. Another one says, "It doesn't seem right."
Mmm, mmm, mmm - Barack Hussein ObamaThat's an understatement. But this video certainly wasn't the only one showing favoritism to Obama by public school officials and teachers.
This
video, which surfaced in September 2009, featured grade-school children from B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington Township, New Jersey, who were taught to sing praises to the president, using these lyrics: "Mmm, mmm, mmm....Barack Hussein Obama."
Here are the rest of the lyrics:
Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama
Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein ObamaHitler Youth, anyone?
