(NaturalNews) Medical professionals everywhere may be stunned by a new discovery that overturns decades of textbook teaching. Researchers at the University of Virginia School of Medicine have recently discovered that lymphatic vessels do in fact go up into the brain, but it is no surprise to those who have studied an Applied Lymphology Course rooted in natural healing.

Now, researchers should no longer be primarily concerned about the role of the immune response in considering the root causes of all neurological diseases. Just as with chronic inflammation, modern medicine has accused the immune system as having gone awry and as the primary source of most problems associated with that process.

Might scientists now begin to consider the possibility that something as basic as the body's plumbing system may well hold the key to solving dozens of disease riddles?

Director of UVA's Center for Brain Immunology Prof. Jonathan Kipnis said, "It changes entirely the way we perceive the neuro-immune interaction. We always perceived it before as something esoteric that can't be studied. But now we can ask mechanistic questions." He elaborated: "In Alzheimer's, there are accumulations of big protein chunks in the brain. We think they may be accumulating in the brain because they're not being efficiently removed by these vessels."

Chairman of the UVA Department of Neuroscience Kevin Lee said, "They'll have to change the textbooks."

Kipnis admits he hadn't believed there still could be significant structures in the body yet undiscovered: "I thought the body was mapped, and that these types of discoveries were a thing of the past." According to Kipnis, the brain's lymphatic vessels managed to escape notice until now, because they are "very well hidden." He explained that they follow a major blood vessel down into the sinuses, an area he says is difficult to image.

Beyond neurological diseases

Those into natural healing might be asking themselves a few questions now:

1.) What kind of mechanistic questions are they willing to ask? Will they remain stuck on their previous focus; that the immune system is primarily to blame for most neurological diseases?

2.) Will they finally recognize the importance of natural healing techniques that now enjoy further scientific validation in regard to healing the brain?

One thing we can be sure of; they do need to find new answers about the workings of the brain and the diseases that plague it. If they ask those questions long enough, they might begin to realize what naturopath Dr. C. Samuel West always taught (a most beneficial answer), that like the rest of the body, the brain depends upon a relationship between both streams; blood and lymphatic! That all diseases result in morbidity, that all morbidity forms blockages, and that all degenerative processes can be reversed naturally, thanks to a relationship between the blood stream and the lymphatic system, which in reality is pervasive throughout the entire body.

Perhaps thanks to this recent finding, one of Dr. West's first Certified Lymphologists, Joseph Lanthier, received the following letter from the World Congress of Lymphology:

Dear Dr. Joseph,

It is our pleasure to inform you that your abstract, entitled "LYMPHOLOGY VS MENTAL DISEASES: SCHIZOPHRENIA BIPOLAR OR MANIACO-DEPRESSION, HOW PLASMA PROTEINS PRODUCE THE CONDITION AT THE BRAIN CELLS' LEVEL OF CHEMICAL IMBALANCE, CAUSING MENTAL DISEASES," has been favorably reviewed by the Scientific Committee and recommended for Poster Presentation at the 2015 WCOL Congress, taking place September 7-11, 2015 in San Francisco, CA.

He now needs sponsorship, and the Academy of Lymphology is prepared to help. Please contribute financially by visiting GoFundMe.com/w3c4s7w.
