(NaturalNews) It seems that everything has turned pink these days in support of breast cancer awareness, including even alcoholic beverages like Mike's Hard Lemonade and Chambord Vodka which now sport the ribbons and color changes. But many breast cancer survivors are up in arms over what they say is the irresponsible "pinkwashing" of products like alcohol that actually contribute to causing cancer.
Earlier in the year, NaturalNews broke the story on Kentucky Fried Chicken's (KFC) outrageous "Buckets for the Cure" campaign that claimed it would help end cancer forever, even though KFC chicken is filled with toxic chemical additives that contribute to causing cancer. You can read more about that here:

Chambord's "Pink Your Drink" campaign, for instance, urges customers to buy the liquor because "by adding a splash of Chambord to any cocktail, you're supporting breast cancer awareness year-round."
Despite lofty donations from such companies towards the cause, many critics say that raising money for breast cancer research by selling products that cause cancer is hypocritical and irresponsible. The next thing you know, cigarette companies will be selling pink cigarettes labeled "Smoke for the Cure".
"Anybody trying to sell alcohol to promote breast cancer awareness should be ashamed of themselves," said Barbara Brenner, executive director of Breast Cancer Action, in a recent
USA Today story.
While the companies selling the pink
alcohol products insist they are doing it to help a good cause, many believe that cause-related marketing is really about selling more products. However, many charities, including those that raise awareness about
breast cancer, continue to accept donations from such companies.
