(NaturalNews) In a series of tweets, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention noted that Dr. Craig Spencer, the latest U.S. Ebola patient who brought the disease back with him from West Africa, was cleared following "enhanced screening" procedures, leading more Americans to further question the government's ability to keep the country safe from the killer disease.
As reported by
The Gateway Pundit, the CDC's tweets were as follows:
Healthcare worker returned through JFK Airport on Oct. 17, participated in enhanced screening for all returning travelers from W. Africa.
Patient didn't have fever or other symptoms of illness during screening; reported fever to health officials for 1st time today. The agency went on to say it was nevertheless rushing medical personnel and staff to New York City:
3 members of CDC's Ebola Response Team will arrive in New York City tonight; CDC Ebola experts already in NYC to offer immediate support. And:
CDC in close communications w/ New York City Health Department & Bellevue Hospital, is providing technical assistance & resources.Dr. Spencer, who had returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea with the organization Doctors Without Borders, initially told health authorities that he had "self-quarantined," but it was later discovered that he instead traveled widely around the city, going bowling, riding the subway and using the UBER ride-sharing app.
Spencer was "rushed" to NYC's Bellevue Hospital after coming down with a high fever. He tested positive for the disease shortly after arriving.
"Self quarantine does not include a night on the town at the bars of bowling alleys. It does not include sharing cars with UBER users, either," wrote
Natural News editor Mike Adams, the Health Ranger.
