(NaturalNews) The new American police state is being ramped up another notch at U.S. airports, where the
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is now equipping its human
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) drones and local police with dogs allegedly trained to sniff out bombs and other explosive paraphernalia. But this latest form of needless intimidation against innocent Americans has already resulted in a serious injury after one of the dogs suddenly went rabid and attacked a woman at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for no apparent reason.
The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) reports that Susan Dubitsky and her husband were waiting outside the airport terminal for a family member to arrive around 4:15 p.m. on May 2 when an Atlanta police officer walked by them with one of the DHS-owned dogs. According to Dubitsky, the dog lunged at her out of nowhere, biting her in the stomach and piercing her skin. And when the officer pulled the dog away, some of the skin actually ripped away causing a serious wound.
"When the dog walked by me, he reached over and grabbed my skin on the lower stomach," said Dubitsky to the AJC. "The handler pulled him away, and it hurt. But more than anything ... I felt the pull of the skin, because as the handler was pulling him back, evidently his teeth were still there."
The DHS reportedly does not muzzle its alleged "bomb-sniffing" dogs because the rogue agency claims doing so would prevent its dogs from identifying potential explosive materials in baggage and elsewhere throughout
airport terminals. So as it currently stands, potentially vicious DHS dogs are now freely roaming U.S. airports for the expressed, and painfully ironic, purpose of ensuring the safety of travelers.
"If that was a small child ... it could have really hurt that child," added Dubitsky, noting that her wound became so serious after getting treatment from emergency personnel at the airport that she had to go see her private physician. She was prescribed and antibiotic and told to follow it up with a rabies shot in the near future. "This could happen to anyone, and I don't know why they're not muzzled. Frankly, I don't ever want to see that dog again because I know that dog has an issue with me."
TSA makes ridiculous excuses when questioned about its dangerous dogs
When questioned as to why one of its dogs suddenly went rabid, DHS officials had no answers, and were not apologetic. They actually tried to claim that maybe the color of Dubitsky's clothes was the cause, including how those clothes wavered in the wind that particular day as she stood by the curb waiting for her sister to arrive.
"He said, 'Well it could have been her clothes,'" said Dubitsky's husband to the AJC. "She was wearing a blue top ... and sometimes the wind blows and that could have attracted the dog."
According to the AJC and others, the dog that bit Dubitsky is already back on duty at Hartfield-Jackson International Airport, which means the
TSA apparently does not care that the dog is a potential threat to other passengers. As far as Dubitsky is concerned, she says she will not be going inside the airport any time soon.
"I'd like to know why the
dog that bit me is still on duty," said Dubitsky to
NBC News. "If nothing else, why wouldn't they reassign that dog to a patrol car temporarily rather than have it in the airport before they know if it will hurt anybody else?"
