(NaturalNews) Enjoy a very, very happy Thanksgiving! You've earned time with your family, away from the rat race of work. We all have so much to be thankful for right now, so it seems appropriate to have a holiday that celebrates it.
What are
you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
I don't even know where to begin. At the metaphysical level, I'm thanksful for the Creator, for the existence of our universe and for the consciousness we have mysteriously attained. On a more mundane level, I'm thankful for life on our planet, the miracle of seeds, the availability of soil to grow our food, and the incredible abundance of Mother Nature.
On a more personal level, I'm thankful for the amazing healing capabilities of the human body, the astonishing functioning of the human brain (and its interface to the non-physical
mind), and for the life we're given to discover more about ourselves and the universe around us. For some reason I still don't quite understand, God gave me the gift of
communication, and I am thankful for having been granted that set of abilities which I continue to dedicate to the pursuit of truth and awakening.
I'm also thankful for a great many people -- NaturalNews readers, for example, who are really the cutting edge of informed, conscious thinkers who represent the future of human civilization on our planet. Certain people like Ron Paul deserve special mention for their role in defending the role of
liberty in the advancement of human civilization.
What are you thankful for?
It's a great day to stop and consider how fortunate we are to be here, to be conscious beings, to have free will and to still have enough freedom so that we may exercise our First Amendment rights to speak our minds. Modern society is not yet lost, and we still have opportunities to
restore liberty in America and around the world. We must work together to protect those fundamental human rights and freedoms, and from that place
advance our civilization beyond wars, beyond territorial conflict, beyond the domination desires of the few and into the realm of
uplifting human civilization rather than trying to keep it down.
I believe such a time is coming, although there will no doubt be struggles in our immediate future as difficult historical lessons are learned. But even that is, in a way, something to be thankful for because how else can an infantile society mature into adulthood if it does not see the error of its ways and the consequences of its poor choices?
We are living through an extraordinary time, witnessing the reluctant advancement of our own species which I hope may one day achieve something resembling adulthood. In the mean time, each of us must do our own personal best to remember what we have to be thankful for and then
use what we have available to positively influence the direction in which humanity is moving.
With that said, enjoy your
Thanksgiving! Get plenty of rest, and eat plenty of healthy, nutritious food, because there is much more work yet to be done on this planet. You'll need the calories... :-)
