(NewsTarget) A study in a 2004 edition of the Journal of Clinical Oncology revealed that the combined five-year survival rate for all types of cancer using full-dose chemotherapy and radiation is only 2.5 percent, but pharmaceutical interests have prevented other treatments from being prescribed in conventional medicine. Yet more effective, less toxic treatments exist; among these, Insulin Potentiation Therapy is increasing in popularity among holistically-minded doctors. IPT utilizes the hormone insulin to make low doses of chemotherapeutic drugs more effective, but natural substances, which produce fewer side effects, can be used in lieu of the drugs. By integrating IPT into a protocol that includes a healthy, organic diet, free of processed food and sugar, along with an individualized nutritional regimen to heal the body, some doctors are able to heal up to 60 percent of their terminally-ill patients. This is because natural IPT regimens not only kill cancer cells in a targeted fashion, but also strengthen the body and immune system, which is destroyed by conventional treatments.
In IPT, doctors first gently lower their patients' blood sugar by giving them insulin. Because cancer cells require copious amounts of glucose to function, lowering the body's blood sugar causes them to starve and to open up their cell membranes, so that they become extremely receptive to whatever glucose might be in the bloodstream. If patients are then given anti-cancer substances along with glucose, their
cancer cells swallow those substances, and the effects of those substances become greatly enhanced, or potentiated, by the insulin.
While most doctors utilize chemotherapeutic drugs at one-tenth of a normal dose for IPT, IPT can also be administered using combinations of
natural anti-cancer remedies, thereby reducing the potential for harmful side effects. Such remedies may include cesium, laetrile, mistletoe, and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO); all of which are lethal to cancer cells, and even more so when administered in an IPT format. Even homeopathic
remedies may also be used in lieu of drugs for IPT.
Critics of IPT claim that it's dangerous to lower the body's blood sugar levels. Robert Eslinger, DO, a physician who has safely used natural substances in an IPT format on his patients for years, says in response to these claims: "Oh really? (IPT is) dangerous compared to what? Chemotherapy? Crossing the street? Well, only if you don't know what you are doing."
When several strategically selected natural anti-cancer substances are used in combination, their effects upon cancer are synergistic and complementary. For example, mistletoe, which has been used extensively in Europe to treat cancer since the early 1900s, prevents angiogenesis (new tumor blood vessel formation), directly kills cancer cells, and stimulates the immune system. Laetrile is also cytotoxic, and DMSO potentiates the effects of the two aforementioned substances. Furthermore, cesium chloride creates an alkaline state in the body (as can a healthy diet) which is toxic to cancer cells because they generally thrive in an acidic environment.
Of course, such natural substances can be used to treat cancer independently of IPT, but administering them in an IPT format potentiates their effects. While IPT isn't used in conventional medicine because medical politics, dictated by pharmaceutical interests, discourages its use, it is a highly effective, non-toxic approach to cancer treatment that more and more doctors of integrative and naturopathic medicine are using on their patients.
