Pomegranate and Blueberry Juice Consumer Shopping Guide
A NaturalNews PhotoTour by Mike Adams

This Langers product blares out on the front label, "POMEGRANATE" in large, capital letters. Underneath, in a barely readable font, you'll find the words "Juice Cocktail from Concentrate."
Let this be a lesson to all shoppers: The word "Cocktail" means the juice has been blended with cheap "filler" juices or even water and refined sugars. It's nowhere near 100% pomegranate juice. In fact, it's not even 100% juice.
A careful look at the ingredients panel on the right shows that this Langers Pomegranate product is only 27% juice. What's the other 73 percent? Filtered water and high-fructose corn syrup. That's right: Sugar water.
It's not much different from sodas, actually. Each serving contains 30 grams of sugars (from the high-fructose corn syrup). If you were to add some phosphoric acid, carbonation and and other flavors, it would be very similar to "Pomegranate Pepsi."
In my opinion, this product is extremely misleading to consumers because the front label screams "POMEGRANATE" in large letters combined with a picture dominated by five pomegranate fruits. Nowhere on the front do you see corn syrup and water (which are the main ingredients). Thus, the product label is misleading in both text and visual elements.
A consumer has to turn to the back label to learn the truth about this product (and most consumers don't read the Nutrition Facts labels on every product they buy). So the Langers company gets away with positioning corn syrup and water as a superfruit beverage when, in reality, it's three-fourths junk. Sure, it contains 100% of the daily serving of vitamin C, but people aren't buying it for the vitamin C -- they're buying it for the pomegranate that mostly isn't even there!
Not all Langers juices are made with high-fructose corn syrup and water, by the way. Click NEXT to see how the same company can also make a higher quality juice product...
