Pomegranate and Blueberry Juice Consumer Shopping Guide
A NaturalNews PhotoTour by Mike Adams

Here's a closeup photo of the ingredients for the POM Wonderful Pomegranate Blueberry product. Note that it is not merely pomegranate and blueberry juice. The ingredients are:
Pomegranate, blueberry, plum, pineapple, apple and blackberry juices from concentrate, and natural flavors
So this is actually a multi-juice blend that features pomegranate. Personally, I like this combination because it provides the health benefits of various fruits. Plums and blackberries, in particular, offer hundreds of unique phytonutrients not found in pomegranate seeds. So blending these ingredients actually enhances the nutritional diversity of the drink.
I'm not concerned about the apple juice because it's only a minor ingredient. Clearly, this is not primarily apple juice trying to be passed off as pomegranate juice. It's mostly pomegranate juice with a hint of apple juice, and that's okay with me.
I also believe the POM Wonderful company is better than most others when it comes to integrity. I trust it more than I trust companies like Tropicana or PepsiCo. This company owns more than 15,000 acres of pomegranate trees in the San Joaquin valley of California, so it grows its own pomegranates in the USA (which is a lot better than buying pomegranate concentrate from countries like China). Annual sales were $91 million in 2006 (a huge increase from previous years), and the company is owned by Roll International Corporation (which also owns FIJI Water).
The company was targeted by PETA (the animal rights group) for testing pomegranate extracts on animals, but later announced it would cease all animal testing. I don't know about you, but given all the atrocious things being done to animals by drug companies and cosmetic manufacturers, I think feeding animals healing pomegranate juice extracts is hardly something worth protesting over (although I remain opposed to animal testing in principle). If feeding animals healing superfruits is wrong, then I've wronged my dog a thousand times over, because I'm always experimenting with various healing plant extracts in her dog food. (My dog is happy and healthy, by the way, and I've even fed her pomegranate juice...)
In any case, I support the POM Wonderful company and its products, and even though its products may seem expensive compared to others, that's because they are made from honest ingredients grown in the USA. No fillers, no junk, no scary imports from China...
Next let's look at a competing brand of pomegranate juice, the R.W. Knudsen company. Click NEXT to continue...
