Physician Who Performed Hysterectomy on Patient as a Medical Experiment Still Allowed to Practice Medicine

A UK doctor who performed unjustified hysterectomies on women has been allowed to continue practicing medicine even after being found guilty of misconduct by health authorities.

Dr. Martin Quinn was told by an oversight panel that he had engaged in "...misconduct so serious as to call into question whether you should continue as a registered doctor, either with restrictions on registration or at all."

But after a six-month suspension, he was reinstated anyway. He's now practicing medicine at St. George's Hospital in London.

Incredibly, this story is a lot more common than you might think. Previous studies have indicated that as many as one-quarter of all hysterectomies are medically unnecessary. They are often undertaken to treat symptoms (such as menstrual pain) that can readily be address through other less barbaric means.

Sadly, the overriding philosophy of western medicine is, "If it hurts, cut it out!" And this philosophy is found not only in treating women's reproductive disorders but also cancer, gallstones and even dental care.

The history of hysterectomies, of course, is quite disturbing all by itself. It used to be routinely performed on women to erase their moodiness. Hence the name "hyster-ectomy" which means, in Latin, the removal of hysteria.

To this day, psychiatric doctors continue to administer barbaric procedures like electroshock therapy and lobotomies (although they are not called that anymore) in order to "treat" women and men who appear to exhibit non-conforming behavior or thought processes.

Similarly, many psychotropic drugs that are forced onto psychiatric patients today are, in essence, chemical lobotomies.

She was "bewildered" that he had not been banned from practising medicine, she said. The woman, who did not want to be named, said: "He took my fertility and prevented my partner and I from having another baby.
