Genetically Modified Pigs to be Bred for Organ Transplant Harvesting

The organ transplant industry is full of horrors, and this latest move is yet another abomination: Scientists are working on ways to breed genetically modified pigs so they can grow organs to transplant into the bodies of humans. This practice is extraordinarily cruel and inhumane to the pigs, and it's clearly designed to simply make more money for transplant surgeons who don't yet have enough dead bodies to play with (which is why they often illegally harvest organs and body parts from cadavers and sell them on the black market).
From News.scotsman.com: The scientists are introducing human genes into the animals to reduce the chances of the organs being rejected by patients' bodies. Early attempts to transplant animal organs were abandoned because the tissue was rejected and because of fears that animal viruses would spread to humans. Enthusiasm for the procedure waned in the late 1990s after patient deaths.... more
