Biological men can now compete against women in the Olympics by claiming they're women

Olympics

(NaturalNews) It has just gotten easier for Olympic-caliber male athletes who always found themselves just a couple ticks away from winning a medal, to finally bring home the gold, silver or bronze: Just deny your gender.

That's right. As noted by Breitbart News, all male Olympians have to do is declare that they're women, and get some medical treatments that will allow them to reduce their testosterone levels to under 10 nmol/L for at least 12 months, before they will be permitted to compete.

And then they'll be able to take on the real female athletes.

But wait. As they say, there's more: As per transgender guidelines recently OK'ed by the International Olympic Committee, formerly male athletes won't have to go through the expense of losing their "parts," so to speak.

"To require surgical anatomical changes as a pre-condition to participation is not necessary to preserve fair competition and may be inconsistent with developing legislation and notions of human rights," states the committee's rule.

Denying the obvious truths

Perfect.

The policy change was originally reported by Cyd Zeilger at OutSports.com.

The rule change comes from a November meeting held by the committee called, "Consensus Meeting on Sex Reassignment and Hyperandrogenism," where members crafted new guidelines for sexually uncertain competitors. Rules adopted in 2004 allowing transgender competitors into the historic games were loosened; they initially required such athletes to undergo changes in genitalia and removal of gonads, as well as the recognition of their official changed sex status by appropriate authorities.

IOC members tried to justify their rule changes through citation of the acceptance by various [mostly Western] societies of gender identities that are in flux.

"Since the 2003 Stockholm Consensus on Sex Reassignment in Sports, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of autonomy of gender identity in society, as reflected in the laws of many jurisdictions worldwide," they wrote.

But wait. Aren't men stronger and faster than women, generally speaking? There are arguments to be made for that, but they weren't entertained by the IOC.

"MTF trans people tend to be bigger, and may have certain strengths from before they started using estrogen," Robert S. Beil, M.D., of Montefiore Medical Group, observed, as quoted by Breitbart News.

Rule change will be lauded – until a top female loses to a mostly male competitor

Further, as contained in a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine:

"The decision to categorically restrict male to female transsexual athletes from competing in a given sport as females rests on two critical assumptions. The first is that most people exposed to testosterone from puberty onward will develop physical and/or physiological attributes that contribute to a distinct performance advantage over most women. Although the performance boundaries between male and female athletes have narrowed in the past several decades, there are distinct gender differences that exist on average. The second assumption needed to justify restricting male to female transsexual participation in female events is that these attributes can withstand the hormonal manipulation of sex reassignment, thereby giving the male to female transsexual athlete an unfair competitive advantage. Certainly, there are some effects of testosterone that cannot be reversed, including (most notably) its effect on postpubertal height in men. Men are on average taller than women, with the pubertal growth spurt accounting for most of the gender difference."

But of course, in today's political correctness-run-wild world, we're not supposed to notice or mention such obvious discrepancies, because to do so would be – wait for it – "homophobic" and "bigoted," instead of being treated as an obvious truth.

Prediction: The Olympic world, in public at least, will applaud this "progressive" rule change, but that may only last until a top-tier female athlete, who has given up everything to train for the opportunity of a lifetime, loses out to a bigger, faster, two-thirds male challenger.

Then, these ridiculous rule changes won't seem so fair – or "progressive."
