(NaturalNews) For the secular, tradition-trashing editors and correspondents over at
CNN, 'Tis the season to be bigots.
As reported by
Newsbusters, a recent "This is Life" segment of the little-watched network's
CNN Newsroom program actually highlighted the plight of Satanists who are trying to get more widespread acceptance of their beliefs in a predominantly Judeo-Christian country, the United States.
"As
This is Life host Lisa Ling appeared live at the end of the 2:00 p.m. hour of
CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin, Ling ended up recalling the case of a woman who viewed Satanists as defenders of 'civil rights' and joined their group as the mother blamed the 'imposition of Christian values' at school for her gay son committing suicide."
But wait – hasn't the Left successfully utilized the Judicial Branch to remove all vestiges of Christianity from public schools? That fact in and of itself should make you question the woman's motivation, but again, it's
CNN, which is
notoriously anti-American and very liberal, so we're left to wonder.
In any event Ling, after recalling that members of the Satanic temple she visited do not literally worship Satan, said:
"More than anything, they really are kind of a political action group, and they exist to protest the imposition of what they say are Judeo-Christian values on our political system, in our politics, and in public life."
The anti-Christians
A "political action group?" Really? According to a January 2014 story by
The Economist:
"Despite ... differences, certain commonalities link many spiritual and materialist branches of Satanism: namely a belief that the worship of a supernatural deity—and the ecclesiastical structure that evolved to support such worship—places needless restrictions on human knowledge and progress; and a belief in science, rationality and learning, without restrictions."
So, in essence, Satanists believe in nothing, per se – which is 180 degrees counter to Christianity (and every other religious denomination that involves faith in a higher power). That's not a PAC, Ms. Ling, it's more like a cult.
Following her initial statement, Ling then alluded to the current debate over
militant Islam that is taking place in America (come on – you knew
CNN would play the Muslim card, especially as Christmas approached – anything to antagonize Christian conservative Americans):
"And, interestingly enough, even though this group has chosen Satan as the head of it, a lot of these issues right now, the idea of respecting people of other faiths, especially during this time, a lot of these issues are relevant right now because there's a lot of scrutinization of people who espouse different beliefs,
if you know what I'm talking about. So, even though this group is trying to use one symbol, really they're trying to get people in this country to recognize and appreciate people of all different faiths."[Emphasis added]
Christians are about as tolerant as it gets
For people who claim not to have a stake in the religion wars,
CNN's hosts seem to go out of their way to support and defend every religion and religious practice
except Christianity. And yes, many
Christians do find that offensive.
You know why? Because if
anyone has demonstrated "tolerance" in this entire religious "debate" it has been American and European Christians, the latter of whom mostly side with their governments in letting in 1 million Muslims this year alone, even as hundreds of them were being slaughtered by adherents of the same faith.
More Left-wing 'I hate Americanism'
But wait: "Not all Muslims are terrorists." Most people who say that are Left-wing interlopers who are trying to paint American Christians who disagree with them in a bad light. In fact, most pundits who say such things usually qualify their statement with some horrible thing Christians did to Muslims
centuries ago (as if Muslim kings were never as brutal or unforgiving). All that argument does is muddy the water, to no good conclusion. It's a straw man.
Truth be told, the vast majority of Christians by far are
just as interested as Satanists, Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Scientologists and tree huggers in ensuring
everyone has
religious freedom in a country whose founding document supposedly guarantees it. I say "supposedly," because if you're a Christian baker or florist who chooses not to do a gay wedding, you're branded a homophobe bigot and vilified in public and punished in court. Some "religious freedom" – maybe a gay couple should try to find a Muslim baker or florist and see how that turns out.
CNN giving love to the most anti-Christian religion at Christmastime is par for the course for Left-wing media. Anything to trash another Christian American holiday.
Hey, maybe we'll see Ling do a special on Jewish persecution in the Middle East at the beginning of Ramadan?
Yeah, I doubt it too.
