(NaturalNews) Vegetable oil sounds harmless. You would think that oil coming right from pressed seeds of this earth would be healthy, but in this modern day of hyper-processing and genetic modification, this couldn't be further from the truth. So what's the deal with cottonseed oil, other than that which comes from industrial waste produced during cottonseed processing? Could the same be said for canola, soybean, sunflower and safflower oils? The mainstream understanding is dark and clouded, but the natural enthusiast is learning quickly not to trust any "edible" oils with a corporate brand name.
U.S. consumes one billion pounds of cottonseed oil annually
Most restaurants deep fry many popular foods in cottonseed oil because it costs next to nothing. If cottonseed oil says "zero trans-fat" on the label, don't be impressed, because the nutritional value (if there was any to begin with) is denatured during the hydrogenation process. After cottonseed oil is refined and deodorized, it's even further from natural. The long "shelf life" usually means shorter human life for those who consume it, because that which kills fungus and mold can cause cancer in human cells as they suffocate and mutate. Remember, there are NO SAFE LEVELS for consumption of hydrogenated oils and trans fats.
Don't Eat Cancer
Cottonseed oil is genetically modified mainly because it comes from cotton, much of which is grown from GMO seeds. If you see cottonseed oil listed in the ingredients of your potato chips, cookies, crackers, salad dressings, desserts or even personal care products, your body is ingesting pesticide. Are you frying fish or potatoes in this
oil? It's very economical, but what happens to your health and the "economy" of taking care of yourself? Will the physical repercussions of consuming toxic cottonseed oil cost you 10 times what you save on the grocery bill later on with healthcare? You bet it will. (

Stay away from genetically modified corn, soy, canola, cottonseed, alfalfa, sugarbeets and high-fructose corn syrup. Stay away from MSG, aspartame, sucralose and sorbitol. Never eat oils processed with hexane, a gasoline vapor. Don't eat food that has to be deodorized -- for that is PROCESSING and is no longer "organic" -- and remember that "all natural" means absolutely nothing.
Far from natural - cottonseed oil
Roundup herbicide is
over 100 times more toxic than its active ingredient, glyphosate, as studied in isolation. Over 90% of all cottonseed in the USA is GMO. Genetically "mutated" cotton can withstand otherwise lethal dousing of the toxic herbicide Roundup. Do the math. Would you eat food from your own garden if someone dumped weed killer all over it AND it didn't die? (

Safe alternatives
Raw, cold-pressed organic olive oil is a great alternative to processed/hydrogenated junk oil. Coconut oil (organic also) is even better, and if you're going to cook at high heat, don't use the olive oil, stick with the coconut oil. Also check out organic ghee. Make sure that everything you buy and consume comes from sustainable (non-GMO) sources. Don't eat
cancer food! You always have a choice if you know what to look for, where to look for it and why. The greatest solution to the filtering process is to
grow your own organic fruit and vegetables in organic soil and water them with spring water. Get off the processed GMO oils and your body will thank you starting right now.
