(NaturalNews) It is a hot-button issue that continues to divide families, friends, communities and even nations. Choosing to vaccinate, or not to vaccinate, is something that people on both sides of the issue feel very passionately about, despite a general lack of honest and civil discourse on the matter in the public realm. But the upcoming feature documentary film Vaccine War aims to bridge this knowledge gap by generating a respectable and truthful discussion about vaccines, which will help more people figure out where they stand on the issue, and why.

For his new film, award-winning director and filmmaker Ryan J-W Smith set out to gather the opinions of diverse professionals from the fields of medicine, law and private investigation. Four doctors, two nurses, two lawyers and a private investigator were all given the chance to speak their minds about vaccines on camera, despite their varying positions on the issue, in order to fairly present what is generally recognized as both sides of the issue. From this, viewers will be given the opportunity to develop their own informed opinions or at least be prompted to investigate the matter further.

"Are [vaccines] the miracle life-saving intervention some would claim they are, or are they a dangerous and unnecessary means to private profit at public cost?" asks the tagline for the upcoming film. "By giving speakers on each side a chance to freely present their case, you decide who is innocent and who is guilty in the vaccine war."

A short preview for the film released to Vimeo features snippets from the various interviews. Experts like Dr. Meryl Nass from Mount Desert Island Hospital, for instance, and Dr. Richard Halvorsen from the Babyjabs Immunization Clinic in London offer input against the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, while Dr. Genevieve M. Clavreul, Ph.D., and others share their opinions about why vaccines are supposedly beneficial and necessary for a healthy society.

More than just a debate, the vaccine war threatens freedom of health choice

Not to be confused with a pro-vaccine, made-for-television PBS film by a similar name, Vaccine War has not yet been officially released. But when it is, it will provide timely insight into a debate that has real-life consequences for those that buck the system, mainly parents who choose not to vaccinate their children. Many of these parents are being coerced and even threatened into compliance by the state, which is part of the reason why constructive dialogue on the issue is badly needed.

"People who challenge vaccines are accused of being irresponsible because, actually, they're causing people to die," explains Dr. Halvorsen, author of the book The Truth About Vaccines, in the film. "No consideration, of course, being taken about whether they (parents) might be preventing people getting side effects from the vaccines."

Adding to this, world-renowned gastroenterologist Dr. Andrew Wakefield, whose work involving the combination MMR vaccine and encephalopathy led to his being ridiculed and professionally destroyed by the medical-industrial complex, explains that some governments are attempting to bypass parental authority by giving children the right to consent to their own vaccines.

"If you have to pass laws that allow children to make decisions in the absence of their parents' approval -- they can get vaccinated (this way), it's been passed in California -- that is not a good situation," says Dr. Wakefield. "It's the destruction of the American family."
