(NaturalNews) It's that time of the year again... time to stop complaining about what's wrong with the country and count your blessings about what's right. And here, in this Thanksgiving weekend article, I'm spilling out my bleeding heart on all the things I'm thankful for in the United States of America today. Are you thankful for the same things? Let's see...
#1 Thankful for the Sun
The sun is the source of all life on planet Earth. Without it, there would be no plants, no microbes, no animals and certainly no humans. Every day that I get to touch the sun's rays, I feel thankful. All who worship life should be sun worshippers, too, I believe. In fact, the Egyptian sun god was named "Ra," and one interpretation of history concludes that the Christian word "Amen" is a derivative of "Amen Ra" which was literally a phrase used to give thanks to the Egyptian solar deities (their "sun god"). Didn't you ever wonder where "Amen" came from? Read some interesting history here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amun#2 Thankful for Free Speech
Yes, I'm thankful for the Free Speech rights we still have remaining, because without them, I would have been arrested long ago for daring to question the FDA, the USDA, the Bush Administration and other corrupt institutions. If I were a blogger in Indonesia or Iran, I would have been silenced long ago. The fact that I can still post stories means there's still some Free Speech remaining in America, and for that, I am truly thankful.
#3 Thankful I Don't Shop at Wal-Mart
I am extremely thankful that I don't shop at Wal-Mart at 5:00 in the morning, standing in line with a couple hundred herd-mentality idiot shoppers who are waiting to stampede through the store, killing other
human beings in a mad rush for product discounts.
That's what happened this morning in New York, where a herd of idiot shoppers trampled to death a 34-year-old Wal-Mart worker (
https://www.naturalnews.com/News_000558_Wal-M...).
Where do I shop? I shop online, mostly. You don't get trampled to death at Amazon.com.
#4 Thankful for Mother Nature
I'm really thankful for Mother Nature, and I remain humbled by its wisdom and authenticity. Mother Nature provides us with the food, the medicine, the tools and the guidance to live abundant, healthful lives (if we are only humble enough to listen to her...)
#5 Thankful for the Internet
It's odd to be thankful for a technology that was original invented as a tool of warfare, but the internet has evolved to be so much more: Today it's the #1 remaining tool for freedom! With the mainstream media now having surrendered to the day-to-day printing of lies and disinformation, the internet is the only remaining place where true
news and information can be found. That's why all the smart people are online (and all the stupid people are watching television or stampeding through Wal-Mart...)
#6 Thankful for the Miraculous Human Body
While I'm writing this article, my body is creating new cells, protecting me against invading microorganisms, circulating my blood, operating my brain and performing literally billions of other functions that don't require a single moment of my attention. The human body is a truly miraculous piece of technology (and so much more), and I'm very thankful to have one. (Although I wish we didn't need any sleep. That's a strange way to spend one-third of your life...)
#7 Thankful for NaturalNews Readers
I'm really thankful for YOU, the NaturalNews readers who continue to find value in the information we provide here on the website. Because if it weren't for you supporting this operation, we wouldn't exist, and we wouldn't be able to touch so many lives with vital information about natural cures and
health freedoms. Thanks, too, for filling out the surveys we've been running on the site. We're using that information to plan future articles and content.
#8 Thankful for Emergency Room Physicians
I know I spend a lot of time bashing doctors on this website, and for the most part, they deserve it. But once a year I like to send a shout out to all the emergency room physicians who mend broken bones, remove bullets from innocent bystanders, save the hides of construction workers and remove the occasional bottle from some freaky guy's anus (if you've ever worked in an emergency room, you know exactly what I'm talking about...) Without these courageous physicians, we'd have to try to mend our own broken bones with popsicle sticks and duct tape. They perform a vital service for society, and as much as I'm against conventional medicine, I always think there's an important role for
emergency medicine that uses drugs, X-rays and surgery.
#9 Thankful for Google
I know, I know: Google has become a dangerously powerful institution on the internet, and I've posted my own share of complaints about the search engine, but the truth is that Google is still the best way to find information online, and it has revolutionized modern society. I can't imagine life without Google (remember the 1980's.... geesh!).
I probably use the search engine a hundred times a day, and it never fails to deliver what I'm looking for. That's amazing. A hundred years ago, no one could have even believed this technology would exist. Google allows people to find information that can greatly enhance the value of their lives.
#10 Thankful for Widespread Financial Illiteracy
I'm really thankful the American people can't do math. Why? Because if they could, we would already be witnessing unprecedented riots and civil unrest as people marched on Washington to demand the arrest of Treasury Secretary Paulson and all the other white-collar criminals who have stolen trillions of dollars out of the hands and pockets of the American taxpayers.
But those riots have been delayed... for now, at least. And that delay is solely due to the fact that the American taxpayers can't do math and don't understand the money supply. Heck, they don't even understand fractional reserve banking. As a result, the riots have not yet begun, and we can all enjoy a blissful, ignorant Holiday season, stocking up on preparedness gear while the other people are out shopping at Wal-Mart, stampeding through the stores like cattle (
https://www.naturalnews.com/News_000558_Wal-M...).
#11 Thankful that China and Japan keep buying our debt
I'm also thankful that central banks from other countries continue to purchase debt from the U.S. Treasury, because without it, our government would have already collapsed into a financial black hole. It is literally the purchasing of debt by foreign investors and central banks that keeps the United States of America propped up these days, and if all those foreign buyers suddenly decide to stop buying debt, we are in a world of hurt.
Gee, it means we'd actually have to start PAYING for the things we spend, and that's just entirely un-American. It's unacceptable. Why should we have to pay for anything?
#12 Thankful for Parents of Healthy Kids
I gotta give a shout out to all the parents who are raising healthy kids: No vaccines, lots of superfoods, no junk food, no sugar... just clean, healthful diets and lots of love. To all you parents, I have a message for you: You're raising the future of humankind! That's right: The junk-food eating babies of mainstream parents won't have grandchildren of their own. That's because the genetic mutations caused by unhealthy lifestyles are accumulating now in the human gene pool, and it only takes about 3-4 generations for infertility to kick in, effectively invoking the laws of natural selection to reshape the future of the human race. (When you don't reproduce, your genes are removed from selection.)
The future of the human race belongs to the healthy babies right now being raised by healthy parents. If that's you, then I thank you for what you're doing! Teach your children well, because they will be not just the survivors of the future human race; they will also be the leaders.
