Immigrant arrested for repeatedly committing voter fraud to skew U.S. elections, while corrupt Democrats claim voter fraud never happens
by J. D. Heyes
(NaturalNews) Liberal progressive Democrats routinely deny that voter fraud is taking place in the United States, but that is usually because the fraud that is occurring benefits their party.
The position taken by the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University's School of law is typical of the Left's denial or outright effort to obfuscate the truth. According to the organization's web site:
The Brennan Center's ongoing examination of voter fraud claims reveal that voter fraud is very rare, voter impersonation is nearly non-existent, and much of the problems associated with alleged fraud in elections relates to unintentional mistakes by voters or election administrators...
And, according to an August 2014 Washington Post story by Justin Levitt, a professor at the Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and an expert in constitutional law and the law of democracy, the incidents of voter fraud are so rare as to be nearly immeasurable; he conducted a study that supposedly only found 31 instances of voter fraud out of 1 billion votes cast.
'Hundreds' of voter fraud cases
And the very Left-wing organization Media Matters portrays the entire subject of "voter fraud" as little more than a "right-wing myth" in this post on the group's web site.
Yet, there are plenty of documented instances of actual voter fraud and they surface nearly every major election cycle – the most recent case in in Tarrant County, Texas.
As reported by CBS DFW, the county's criminal district attorney, Sharen Wilson, is currently working with the Office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (who has been indicted on charges of securities fraud) "to prosecute a case of repeated voter fraud against the state."
Rosa Maria Ortega, of Grand Prairie, Texas, has been indicted for voting illegally in Tarrant County, officials said. The indictment alleges that Ortega – who is not even a U.S. citizen and, therefore, is barred from voting or even registering to vote – fraudulently did the latter in Dallas County after claiming to be a U.S. citizen.
Also, CBS DFW reported, Ortega allegedly attempted twice to register to vote in Tarrant County, but her applications were rejected by Tarrant County Elections Office personnel.
What's more, records in Dallas County indicate that Ortega voted in multiple elections in that county, beginning in 2004, and most recently in the 2014 GOP primary run-off.
"Protecting the integrity of elections is essential to our democracy and a top priority of my administration," said Paxton. "As long as there are criminals seeking to exploit our system of elections, we stand ready to investigate, prosecute and restore confidence that the will of the people of Texas is heard."
"This is a big deal," added Wilson. "People insist this kind of thing doesn't happen, but it's happening right here at home. The principle of one citizen, one vote is one of our most fundamental rights as U.S. citizens, and must be protected."
There have been other cases of voter fraud as well - many other cases. Here are just a few:
-- Madison County, Ga.: Mohammad Shafiq of Madison County was not happy with a local candidate for sheriff, Clayton Lowe, so Shafiq began to campaign for Lowe's opponent by submitting phony voter registration cards that he apparently intended to vote under when the election rolled around.
-- Magoffin County, Ky.: During the November 2014 elections for county judge-executive, Larry Perkins of Magoffin County saw fellow resident Simon Marshall with a new, crisp $50 bill. When Perkins asked Marshall, the latter of whom had limited intellectual ability – where he got the money, Marshall replied, "It is election day."
As The Daily Signal further reported:
A judge threw out the results of the election, which was decided by only 28 votes, citing evidence that "people sold their votes" as well as numerous other violations of election rules, including a lack of required information on applications for absentee ballots, precinct officers failing to document how they identified voters and improperly helping people vote, and residents casting early ballots when there was no Republican election commissioner present as required.
There are hundreds more examples – to see them, read this August 2015 report.
