Geraldo Rivera smacked down, schooled on gun control by truth teller Greg Gutfeld

(NaturalNews) Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera must sometimes feel as though he has a lonely job being a liberal on a conservative-dominated cable news network (and one that tops the ratings year after year after year).
He must have felt particularly lonely recently when, as part of the five-person panel on the afternoon program The Five, he was verbally smacked down by Greg Gutfeld, another Fox News personality and one of four right-leaning members of the panel.
The exchange began when the general moderator of The Five, Eric Bolling, played a Fox News clip of outspoken Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who recently appeared on Hannity. In response to a question from Sean Hannity about President Obama's habitual calls for more gun control - this time in the wake of the shooting of a young reporter and her cameraman in Virginia as they did a live report earlier this month - Clarke, who is black, opined:
"Here's my challenge to the president of the United States, if you think this is so easy. Forego your Secret Service protection for you, for the first lady, for your children, and see what it's like to have to fend for yourself. And then we'll sit down and have a conversation so you know what we here at ground level have to deal with on a daily basis, in terms of self-defense. I am done asking people in my community to outsource their personal safety to the government."
In the past, Clarke has hinted to local citizens they should arm themselves and not rely solely on calling 911.
"A lot of dishonesty going on"
Clarke's "challenge" riled Geraldo, who is famously in favor of gun control.
"That was reckless and irresponsible," he interrupted, and Gutfeld and others attempted to answer Bolling. "I'm telling you right now, that man should be ashamed of himself."
"Let someone else talk," an exasperated Gutfeld said before allowing Geraldo to simply wind down.
Then, Gutfeld unloaded. He spoke calmly at first, but his passion built as he spoke:
There's a lot of dishonesty going on, coming specifically from Geraldo. When you look at the statistics, and you know this as well as Katie....say The Washington Post will say that they're averaging one mass shooting per day... What they do is, the overwhelming statistics are gang shootings, because they know that gang shootings will not get the headlines.
Geraldo jumped in again, saying that "there are more suicides, not gang shootings."
"So, you're telling me there aren't gang shootings?" Gutfeld asked.
"There are more suicides than murders," Geraldo responded.
Gutfeld clarified his point, "There are more gang shootings than mass shootings," he said. "And when you look at the statistics there is actually no increase in mass shootings once you look at gang shootings.
"So, you're being disingenuous," Gutfeld continued, in reference to Geraldo. "You're saying, 'Oh, these things are happening all the time, and we don't care about dead babies'...Screw you! We do care about dead babies!"
"Dead babies?" Geraldo shot back. "What are talking about, dead babies?"
"That's what you said!" Gutfeld insisted. "That's what you said."
Geraldo brought the subject back to Clarke, asking:
"A cop who says the president should forego his Secret Service protection, after we've been traumatized with presidents being assassinated? How dare he!"
Gutfeld says that Clarke's point was "actually brilliant."
"If you want to live by your beliefs, then you should be prepared to sincerely live by them," he said.
"The president of the United States?" Geraldo shot back incredulously.
"That means when you go to Fox News, Geraldo, you don't have armed security either," Gutfeld said.
