A trip down the memory hole: Exploring Washington Post's fake journalism through the years

by J. D. Heyes

(NaturalNews) In the words of Big Journalism correspondent John Nolte at Breitbart News, today's mainstream media is rife with "liars, frauds, partisans, cheats, plagiarists, and those who tolerate, defend and enable all of them."

In fact, he continues, "there is no American institution -- not the NFL, not the tobacco companies, not any corporation or enterprise regularly targeted by the media -- that engages in anywhere near the amount of fraud and dishonesty that serially oozes from Our Media Overlords."

One of the most regular abusers of the public trust -- though always reporting under the guise of honesty and integrity -- is one of the country's legacy newspapers and serial Pulitzer Prize winners: The Washington Post.

Like many other legacy media outlets and networks, the Post exists to expand large, progressive, centralized government; to quell any semblance of opposition from conservatives and Republicans; and to aid and abet anyone or any corporation seeking to push bad science, bad food and bad politics.

Consider:

-- The Post's Ezra Klein created an email list club called "JournoList" that, when exposed, confirmed what many Americans suspected or instinctively knew: That across numerous platforms and publications, liberal journalists were brainstorming to coordinate attacks against Republicans, especially to help Barack Obama. "This frenzy of coordination appeared to hit its zenith during the 2008 presidential election," Nolte wrote.

JournoList members included columnists and reporters from the Post, Politico, Bloomberg News, The New Yorker magazine, The Economist, Time, Harpers, The Guardian, Newsweek and many more.

-- The Post's "Politics and Policy in Obama's Washington" blogger Sandhya Somashekhar (along with the rest of the MSM) blamed Tea Party favorite and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for "inciting violence" that led to the shooting of Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords in Tucson, Arizona, in January 2011, instead of the lunatic, Jared Loughner, who actually committed the crime.

Their "proof"? A "mailer Palin's campaign team created that placed targets over a map of vulnerable incumbents -- including Giffords' district. This is a standard graphic still used by both Democrats and Republicans," Nolte wrote.

Later, it was learned that Loughner was just a socialist-leaning, crazy man who had never seen the graphic.

-- In October 2011, the Post ran a hit piece on newly seated GOP Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, a piece which later had to be scrubbed for serial misstatements and errors. For once, the finger-pointing was done by another member of the MSM -- the Miami Herald. After the paper dismantled the Post story, editors for the latter did not have the guts to issue a correction; they secretly changed it to make it appear correct the whole time.

-- In May 2012, in a story that was obviously timed to coincide with a heated presidential election cycle in which it was far from certain that Obama would win reelection, the Post published a story that accused GOP contender Mitt Romney of being a homophobic bully 50 years earlier, when he was in high school.

The story quickly collapsed as witnesses -- even some quoted by the Post -- disputed its essence. The Post's editors secretly made changes.

Oh, and the story also just happened to drop when Obama did a flip-flop on the issue of gay marriage.

-- In June 2014, Post columnist Dana Milbank accused the conservative Heritage Foundation of bullying a female Muslim woman who expressed concern about Muslim stereotyping during a panel. The only problem is, it didn't happen.

To read Milbank's column, you'd think the poor Muslim woman was nearly pummeled to death.

But when you watch an actual video of the exchange (provided, ironically enough, by the liberal Media Matters organization closely associated with the Clinton family), you can see that it was nothing but polite.

The media's myriad of misinformation, scandal and propaganda are some of the reasons for the creation of the new search engine Good Gopher, the world's first privacy-protecting search engine that bans corporate propaganda and government disinfo.
