Rich pharma executive sociopath gets 18 years for killing her son in cold blood and happily watching him suffer
by J. D. Heyes
(NaturalNews) She is a multimillionaire Big Pharma entrepreneur and she was just convicted of doing something despicable: Watching her own son, who was autistic, die a horrible death that a jury agreed she caused.
As reported by Britain's Daily Mail online, Gigi Jordan, 53, had already been convicted of manslaughter after she was found guilty of fatally poisoning son Jude Mirra in their luxury Manhattan hotel room some four years ago.
In late May, a court sentenced her to 18 years behind bars, which was close to the maximum of 25 years for the crime of manslaughter in New York state.
In handing down his sentence, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon slammed the Big Pharma magnate as she attempted to justify what she had done and for then showing a complete lack of remorse in the years following her crime.
"You would think in 2015, the defendant would say something like, 'What a terrible thing I did. How could I kill my own son?'" said Solomon, as reported by the New York Daily News. "But five years later — the same thing. It's hard for me to believe."
I'm not buying it
Solomon continued his admonishment, going on to point out other avenues Jordan could have chosen instead after claiming in court that the only way to protect her son from what she said was an abusive father was to kill him.
"All of her money, all of her resources. She decided to kill him. There are so many different things she could have done," Solomon said. "She had all the money in the world to help Jude but she wound up taking his life."
The justice also said he discounted her claim that she had also tried to end her own life after giving her son a fatal dose of poison, noting that she was lucid when cops got to her hotel room. In fact, he noted, she was coherent enough to ask for her lawyer.
In a statement to the court, Jordan cried as she said she "loved Jude more than anything in this world."
"He suffered so much and I'll live with that guilt for the rest of my life. Not one day goes by that I don't remember his beautiful face, his struggles and pain," she added.
Jude had been diagnosed with immune system abnormalities and post-traumatic stress disorder. He did not speak, either.
Last fall, after a six-week trial, jurors accepted her defense that she had given her son a fatal combination of prescription drugs as she wallowed in a state of "extreme emotional 'disturbance,'" the New York Post noted.
Big Pharma exec uses Big Pharma to kill
Jordan claimed she was in fear for her life – that her ex-husband and business partner, Ray Mirra – wanted to kill her, and that would have then left him in custody of his biological father, Emil Tzekov. Jordan also claimed that Tzekov had sexually abused the boy, a charge which he has denied. Prosecutors noted that both men had signed away their parental rights, meaning neither of them would have been given custody of Jude.
Had she been found guilty of murder, Jordan would have faced 15 years to life in prison.
On the night of the crime, Feb. 5, 2010, authorities found Jordan lying among 5,819 pills along with an empty bottle of Grey Goose vodka near her son's corpse in a $2,300-per-night suite at the Peninsula Hotel on Fifth Avenue. She later told police she had given her son pills before an unsuccessful attempt at taking her own life.
But this happened as well: As her son lay there, dying, Jordan calmly requested a bottle of water from the hotel, extended her stay further and transferred $125,000 to another account.
Prosecutors had claimed that she killed her son after she realized that he would likely never get any better.
It should not be lost on Natural News readers that a Big Pharma executive used prescription pills to kill her own son.
