Teacher tells students that pilgrims were "America's first terrorists" and not to listen to their parents

(NaturalNews) The education system in America - like the entertainment industry and the mainstream media - has been dominated by maniacal left-wing Progressives for decades, as evidenced by the routine revisionism of U.S. history, which almost always portrays our nation's founding as illegitimate, improper, racist and tainted.
And while no serious student of our nation's history would argue that America was founded as a perfect nation in an otherwise imperfect world, much of what passes as "fact" today is simply false.
'I can't tell her something different because I'm a mommy, not a teacher'
Take the recent case of Texas resident Cassidy Vines and her daughter; what one teacher recently told Ms. Vines so horrified her that she is currently planning to home-school her daughter following the Christmas break.
As reported by The Blaze:
Vines told Glenn Beck [Nov. 24] that she recently began noticing a change in her daughter's behavior. Her daughter - who is in kindergarten - started to "snap" at her when she corrected her homework, saying "I'm her mommy, not her teacher."
Vines said a few days after her daughter first snapped at her, she started pronouncing a word incorrectly. Vines corrected her daughter "in the most gentle way possible," but she said her daughter broke down crying, saying "that's how she was taught, and I can't tell her something different because I'm a mommy, not a teacher."
The Pilgrims as 'America's first terrorists'
Vines said that really bothered her, so she asked her daughter if someone at school was telling her such things.
"She said, 'Yes, I'm only allowed to learn from my teacher,'" Vines remarked.
At that, Vine says she tried to meet with her daughter's teacher a number of times but never received any response. So she decided to wait until the regular parent-teacher conference, where she says she attended "armed with a slew of questions." In reality, she told Beck during his radio show, she was hoping that her daughter had merely misunderstood what she was being told at school.
"I was prepared to listen to what the teacher had to say, just in case my daughter was maybe stretching the truth a bit," Vines said. "I kept that in the back of my mind to bring up with the teacher, but I was more concerned at the time with her new attitude that she brought home from school."
Vines told Beck that she explained to her daughter's teacher what was going on and kept expecting a denial, but it never came.
"[The teacher] goes on to tell me that they try to discourage parents from introducing contradictory concepts to 'our' children," Vines explained. "Our children. As in the school's children? I was a little baffled. And so when I started talking about my daughter, I emphasized my daughter. So I asked her, 'Am I not allowed to help her with her homework?'"
Vines said she was shocked by the teacher's answer - that they "don't want parents confusing the kids."
On Glenn Beck's Facebook page, Vines also wrote about the incident, sharing this shocking detail - that her daughter's teacher allegedly called the Pilgrims "essentially America's first terrorists."
'These are our children'
That led Beck to ask Vines how old her daughter's teacher is.
"She's probably in her 30s," Vines responded. "She doesn't look much older than me. I'm 27."
"I don't even know what to say about this," Beck answered. "I get so uptight about this stuff. This is the stuff that enrages me."
The talk show host and The Blaze founder commended Vines for publicizing the story and the decision to take her daughter out of the public school and teach her on her own. Then he openly questioned how much longer parents would even have the option of home schooling their own children.
"If they're already saying 'These are our children' and 'Don't listen to mommy and daddy' - do you know what this is? You remember the Al Gore speech?" Beck said. "It was right after the election ... when he called everyone in and would not allow any parents, any adults in there. It was just teenagers. ... And what he said was, 'Look, there are some things that your parents don't know, that you just instinctively know.'"
Beck then called for the U.S. Department of Education to be "shut down."
