Three amazing herbs for a clear and healthy complexion

(NaturalNews) The skin is the body's largest organ. It's constantly eliminating toxins via perspiration through every single pore on the body. Every now and then, the burden of removing toxins can become too much for the skin, and trouble manifests itself in the form of pimples, acne, discolorations and other skin issues. Most individuals turn to makeup to cover up the unsightly marks, but sometimes that only worsens the issue. Others pick at the problem to see if they can make it go away; this never works and it only serves to irritate the tissue further. Skin is tough but delicate. It protects us from foreign invaders but can easily scar. Facial skin is even more delicate; for this reason, blemishes should be dealt with using natural ingredients that won't damage it. Here are some herbal remedies for better skin that you should consider.
Chamomile
This herb provides anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial benefits. Chamomile can be used on skin irritations such as sunburns, cuts, blisters, bruises and psoriasis. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, anti-inflammatory ingredients like chamomile are prevalent in treating this troublesome condition. Chamomile can effectively reduce redness and inflammation caused by rosacea. Eczema sufferers can also benefit from chamomile. Used in cream form, chamomile was found to relieve symptoms of eczema, according to two studies in humans. A 20-minute soak in a warm bath with several drops of chamomile essential oil can also help soothe skin disorders. Chamomile is great for treating acne scars and soothing irritated skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties can help reduce and even prevent inflammatory acne lesions. Steep chamomile flowers 10-15 minutes in hot water. Let it cool and apply to the skin using a clean cotton swab. After applying the chamomile tea, let it dry completely and then rinse it off with warm water. Redness and swelling caused by pimples can be reduced by pressing cold chamomile tea bags on the affected area.
Tea Tree
Dermatologist and aesthetician Aurora DeJuliis, says tea tree oil can be used to treat pimples because it contains disinfecting and soothing properties. Tea tree oil is effective on blocked pores, can disinfect the pores, and can dry out whitehead and blackheads, according to Dejuliis. Tea tree oil's effectiveness in treating pimples is attributed to terpenes, a type of volatile oil that has been shown to eliminate bacteria; this makes it an ideal herb for treating acne. Tea tree oil can even be used to treat athlete's foot or fungal infection on the nails. Treat acne by diluting tea tree oil with jojoba oil, raw organic honey or aloe vera gel. Apply a small amount to the affected area and leave on for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off. Make sure to first wash the affected area with warm water and soap.
Lavender
The pleasant-smelling aroma is the least of this plant's benefits. Lavender is an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral. Linalool is the compound responsible for lavender's skin-healing benefits. This same compound helps soothe the skin and prevent tissue degeneration. Linalool is also attributed with keeping the skin taut and helping to prevent wrinkles. Lavender's cytophylactic properties encourage the growth of new skin cells. This helps heal wounds, scar tissue, eczema, acne and other skin problems. Linalool, a compound found in lavender and other essential oils, can be a skin irritant when it is oxidized and can cause allergic reactions. In its pure form, it is not an allergen.
