Dr. Michael Savage warns Americans have just weeks left to stop nation from collapsing into civil war
by J. D. Heyes
(NaturalNews) Radio talk show host and author Dr. Michael Savage has issued an ominous warning to Americans in a just-released new book: There is little time left before the nation plunges into its second Civil War. In fact, at this point, less than two weeks: If the upcoming midterm elections don't go the right way, he says, the country is liable to fracture again.
That's a prediction that he's made in his tome Stop the Coming Civil War, which was published over the summer by Center Street Books. And he says one man -- President Barack Obama -- is principally responsible.
In an interview with WorldNetDaily, Savage said Obama's whole reason for becoming president rests with his admission during the first campaign that he sought to "fundamentally transform" the country. That, Savage notes, simply begs a question that the media at the time did not ask him, nor have they asked since: Transform the country from what to what?
Obama has never been a unifying force, says Savage
In 2004, when Obama addressed the Democratic National Convention, he instantly became a party star. Many saw in him a unique opportunity for the Democrats to seize power, especially in the midst of Republican majorities in both chambers of Congress and a GOP president, George W. Bush, in the White House. Obama's heritage was unique, his oratorical skills impeccable, and his message solid: He spoke of an America that was neither "liberal" nor "conservative," neither "black" nor "white."
But, says Savage, since his first days in office, Obama's actions have never matched his rhetoric. Instead of uniting the country, he's divided it -- so much so that his approval ratings now are the worst of his tenure.
"Obama's been engaged in a civil war from the day he seized the presidency," Savage told WND. "He said he's going to transform America. What was that? What was that declaration? It's a declaration of war against the country's traditional values and freedoms."
But it's not just Obama dividing the country -- and the world. It's the Left-wing, socialist politics that he and his party practices.
In his last chapter, Savage writes that his book is really about "the conflict the current administration is pushing in the name of a broader worldwide liberal revolution."
"As I see it, the forces of the left are attempting nothing less than a socialist takeover of the world economy and global politics," he wrote.
In addition, the "worst part of the story," he said in his WND interview, is that if Obama is permitted to continue his efforts, "this country doesn't survive." He explained that even Vice President Joe Biden, in a recent statement at the John F. Kennedy Forum at Harvard University, said the post-World War II global order is "literally fraying at the seams."
Biden, who is known on Capitol Hill as versed in foreign policy, also said:
Folks, "all's changed, changed utterly. A terrible beauty has been born." Those are the words written by an Irish poet William Butler Yeats about the Easter Rising in 1916 in Ireland. They were meant to describe the status of the circumstance in Ireland at that time. But I would argue that in recent years, they better describe the world as we see it today because all has changed. The world has changed.
'It's not a joke'
"What was he trying to say?" asked Savage, whose latest book is his 30th. "Was he playing like he's suddenly discovered what he's done to the country? And now he's triangulating his opposition to make believe he's the savior?
"It's not just a joke," he went on to say. "We're at the end of the road here. I don't want to live in a Venezuela under a dictatorship and look back 40 years and say, 'Why didn't someone stop him?'"
Savage knows there are problems within the Republican Party, but he says it is the only one that can save the country.
"If every Democrat Socialist Islamist is fired, and the Republicans take the Senate, we can lobby the Republican Party through town hall meetings," he told WND. "We can shake them up and make them do what needs to be done."
