Kids growing up in cities have higher risk of developing food allergies
by PF Louis
(NaturalNews) Statistics from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) show that 3 percent of adults and 6 percent of children have one or more food allergies. The rate of food allergies among children has been steadily rising over the past two decades as well.
Johns Hopkins Children's Center headed a federally funded network of other medical groups to investigate and determine allergy statistics among inner city children. The study followed 516 children from birth to five years of age in St. Louis, Baltimore, Boston and New York City.
They charted their diets and took blood samples at different age intervals, one, two, three and five, to determine blood levels of immunoglobulin E (IgE), which are antibodies to milk, eggs and peanuts that indicate possible allergies to those three most commonly allergenic foods.
They discovered that 10 percent of those 516 urban dwelling kids had one or more allergies. But there could be more since the study's criterion parameters were stringently narrow. The antibody counts indicate only potential allergies and food sensitivities.
So the researchers added clinically confirmed allergic reactions to those foods to the IgE readings before including them into the count that resulted in 10 percent.
Another factor which implies that the 10 percent rate could be higher is that the researchers used only those three most common allergens while excluding all other foods. Many within the study who were not counted as allergic to those three foods were categorized as potentially allergic, with a large percentage having sensitivity but tolerating a food.
Tolerating anything in allopathic medicine means there's no immediate reaction. But long-term health deterioration is not part of their mindset. The biggest "it" was peanuts, with eggs and milk ranking considerably behind at second and third, respectively. Hold the peanut butter!
There was no reference to what type of milk. Mainstream medicine usually considers only pasteurized milk as milk, not raw milk. They have to pay homage to Louis Pasteur's bogus germ theory, one pathogen for each disease that each demand a new patentable "medicine."
Another ignored aspect of children's rising rate of allergies has been statistically demonstrated to correlate with the rising rates of vaccination schedules for children under six years of age. These surveys have been conducted by more than one grassroots group but not by any "recognized" authoritative institute or medical journal.
It's probable that higher vaccination rates occur among inner city kids than among children raised on small family farms. Vaccines are the sacred cow and holy grail of the Medical Mafia. No one within the "family" will point out any vaccine deficiencies without a "contract" being issued against him or her.
What about those kids outside the city?
There have been some studies among small-farm-raised children demonstrating higher immunity to illness and disease, with many less allergy-prone than urban kids and even rural kids not raised on farms. Most studies were done in European and Scandinavian nations among smaller rural farms. Many were dairies.
One study was done in the USA among Midwestern Amish, who also have smaller family farms and gather raw milk for sale to the wiser among us and drink it themselves. The use of raw milk itself is considered antiallergenic and even able to promote healthy gut bacteria and confer immunity.
Additionally, growing up on small farms was considered ideal for exposing young children to naturally occurring microbes in the soil, air and water to act as safe antigens and confer natural immunity to protect them in their later years.
The studies focused mostly on that natural immunization aspect of growing up on a small farm or dairy. (Natural News sources 2, 3 and 4 below)
Big Ag's heavy pesticide spraying has been linked to increased autistic spectrum issues among those born within a mile of a BigAg monoculture farm. The California study that determined this was focusing on mental issues, but there were probably other health issues too. The absence of heavy pesticide spraying on smaller family farms eliminates serious toxic pollution.
Unfortunately, this type of farming is getting more difficult in the land of the free, as big government and Big Ag impose their will to destroy family farms.
