Police state insanity: Man arrested for carving watermelon in a 'passive-aggressive' manner

(NaturalNews) In today's insane police state society, people can now be arrested for the "suspicious" way that they cut up fruits and vegetables. Apparently, carving a watermelon aggressively can land a man in the slammer these days. All police need is a snitch, and that can even include a man's own wife. This is what happened to a 49-year-old Connecticut man named Carmine Cervellino. After he carved a watermelon in his house in a "passive aggressive" manner, his wife disapproved and retaliated by notifying the police.
How to create a police state
Why are family members conspiring against one another and using law enforcement as a vehicle to complicate and destroy one another's lives? A police state is birthed from a society that cannot responsibly work out its individual problems. Turning family members and neighbors in for something as frivolous as "improper carving of watermelons" proves that there is a bitter disconnect between people, families and communities. Using "Big Brother" to solve frivolous disagreements creates a surveillance state. Tattle-telling to the police over someone's behavior welcomes the most insidious of police state intervention.
Man's wife feels threatened in civil dispute by the way he cut up a watermelon
In the report, it appears that Thomaston Police Chief Jim Campbell went along with the wife's story, responding to her fears of feeling threatened by the way her husband cut up a watermelon.
An intelligent and professional police department wouldn't go after a man who cuts up a watermelon indifferent to his wife's approval. Apparently, this police department has nothing better to do. Maybe they think that they are heroes, preventing the next knife-wielding murderer. Regardless of their suspicions, no crime was committed.
This wasn't the only complaint that the wife filed on her husband. A week before the man's arrest, on July 4, the woman turned her husband in after she allegedly found marijuana in a toolbox at the house. When the police arrived, there was no cannabis in sight. The husband must have been furious. When his wife returned home later on, she found a watermelon on the kitchen counter with a butcher's knife in it. That's when she called the police again and reported that her husband cut up the melon in a "passive aggressive" manner.
This phone call was evidence enough for the police to ride in on July 12 and arrest Carmine Cervellino for threatening his wife. The woman took a photo of the knife in the watermelon and showed it to police, as first reported by The Register Citizen of Torrington. The woman may have felt threatened, but she could very easily be retaliating. According to police, the couple is currently going through the process of divorce.
Whatever the case, the police arrested this man on the basis of an assumed thought crime. When police are given this kind of power, anyone can be locked up and charged for just about anything.
