Long Island nursing home hired male strippers for entertainment of elderly residents

by L.J. Devon, Staff Writer

(NaturalNews) Staff members at a Long Island nursing home have been subjecting elderly residents to strip teases in the facility's recreational room. In an attempt to entertain the elderly residents, and themselves, nursing home staff members have engaged in hiring male strippers. One male exotic dancer was brought in for $250 and was photographed grinding in the lap of 86-year-old Bernice Youngblood.

Nursing home subjected 86-year-old to overwhelming male stripper

When the elderly Bernice Youngblood was visited by her son Franklin, she was visibly upset and shared the picture with him. The picture evidenced an account of sexual acts that had been occurring in the open right in the nursing home rec room. The picture shows Franklin's mom in a wheelchair alongside other residents -- being offensively subjected to an overwhelming male stripper. She can be seen stuffing dollar bills in his briefs -- dollars that were meant to be locked away in a commissary account.

Upset in an interview, Bernice Youngblood described the situation that confronted her: "The gentleman [male stripper] talked to me and he [told] me what he [wanted] done."

Her son Franklin was startled to see what had been going on inside the facility and promptly spoke with the nursing home staff. He was reportedly dismissed by staff members and ignored. Outraged over the staff's attitude surrounding the strip teases, Franklin left that night only to file suit.

Elderly woman and her son file suit

The suit, filed by Bernice and her son Franklin, states, "Plaintiff Bernice Youngblood was placed in apprehension of imminent, offensive, physical harm, as she was confused and bewildered as to why a muscular, almost nude man, was approaching her and placing his body and limbs, over [her]."

In the suit, Franklin states he tried to confront a nurse but was lunged at, as the staffer tried to take the picture away. According to Franklin, another nurse eventually told him that the strip teases are done in "good faith" and are only for entertainment purposes.

According to the suit, the strip teases were "a serial occurrence," and may have cost elderly residents' money that was supposed to be securely stored in commissary accounts.

Family attorney John Ray spoke out about the moral atrocity: "Bernice Youngblood has lived 85 years as a traditional Baptist, hard-working, lady... And now she has been defiled."
The attorneys said that the 86-year-old woman "lacks the mental and physical capacity" to protect herself, and was subjected to "vile" incidents perpetrated for the "perverse pleasure and enjoyment of the Defendant's staff."

Nursing home feels justified, admitted to hiring male stripper on consensus of 16 residents

The East Neck Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is declining to comment on the matter. Reporters found out later that the elderly Bernice Youngblood had no idea that the male dancer was going appear in the recreational room of the nursing home. Perched in her wheelchair, she felt helpless, saying, "I felt really bad and ashamed. That's how I felt about it."

The attorney defending the nursing home, Howard Fensterman, admitted that the nursing home hired the male stripper in September 2012, but the stripper was voted in by 16 residents living in the facility. The nursing home reportedly paid $250 for the male dancer to come in, while he apparently raked in more using his briefs and overpowering sex appeal.

Mr. Fensterman backed the consensus of the 16 resident in the facility, stating, "These are adults, and they may be elderly, but they still have their rights, and they have the ability to make decisions on their own behalf as to what entertainment they want."
