Cancer patient who spoke out against Obamacare targeted for IRS audit
by J. D. Heyes
(NaturalNews) Whenever I hear Barack Obama talk about government "compassion" and benevolence, I nearly lose my lunch. The man couldn't be lying more if he was telling you that you can keep your health insurance and doctor, or that your coverage rates will decrease $2,500 a year.
Under his "leadership," federal agencies have become nothing more than "heavies" and thugs, doing his bidding and enforcing his will with iron fists, the way the bureaucracies in tyrannical countries run by dictators do.
The Internal Revenue Service, in particular, has been employed often by this administration against political enemies, extending well beyond the 2012 election cycle and the targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups (which, according to this report, is still happening).
Lesson: Don't speak out, lest you be punished by the lord and master
Now, despite assurances from Obama's new nominee to become the next IRS Commissioner, John Koskinen, that he will work to restore credibility in his agency by ensuring that such abuses don't occur - as the agency gears up to enforce provisions of Obamacare - the IRS has targeted an American over Obamacare.
And, as reported by CNSNews.com, the action is just despicable:
A cancer patient, who publicly discussed the cancellation of his insurance under ObamaCare, now says he has been informed by the Internal Revenue Service that he is going to be audited.
Bill Elliot appeared on Fox News on November 7th to discuss the cancellation of his insurance. He claims he was told that his cancer was considered "beyond the catastrophic previous condition" and his plan was being canceled because of ObamaCare regulations.
Elliot, who is currently suffering with stage 4 cancer, told viewers that he wasn't going to pay the $1,500-per-month premium under the new plan currently being offered. He said he wasn't about to burden his family and was instead ready to simply "let nature take it's course."
That is simply unconscionable. And this is from a man who claims to "care more" about Americans than anyone else.
There was some good news that came out of Elliot's ordeal, however. After the story initially broke and attracted no small amount of media attention, he says his insurance company decided to let him keep his original coverage. But the IRS wouldn't let him off the hook.
IRS pounces
"Well, the update on my health is: I went to the doctor last week and he told me that I was in full remission. So, that's good news; I'm getting better. Thanks to Steve, I wouldn't have found none of this out, 'cause I wouldn't have had health insurance to go back. So, I found out that I'm in full remission and that I've got four months to go - not four months to go, but be checked every four months.
"So, [recently] I got a certified letter. I didn't get my mail until late, so [a day later] I went and picked it up. Lo and behold, it's from the IRS saying, 'You're going to be audited for the tax year of 2009,'" Elliot said.
He went on to tell host Rocky D on WQSC 1340, as well as the Sara Marie Brenner Show, that he was going to be audited.
"I kind of expected something like this," Elliot told Sara Marie Brenner.
Unfortunately, in the age of Obama and a malevolent federal leviathan, this kind of punitive behavior from our government doesn't surprise me either.
