Canadian agency attacks Jenny McCarthy for demanding mercury-free vaccines
by J. D. Heyes
(NaturalNews) How ensconced is Big Pharma in our lives these days? Apparently so much so that entire governments have become cheerleaders for the poison they push.
Consider the case of actress, model and devoted mother, Jenny McCarthy. As she prepares to join the cast of "The View," ABC's morning women-centric chatfest, she's under heavy criticism for her views on vaccines from all quarters, including the Canadian government.
Per InfoWars.com:
Toronto Public Health (TPH) is not concerned that her salacious past may set the wrong example for children - McCarthy is a former Playboy model - but rather, that given her staunch disapproval of vaccines, providing her with a national platform could possibly influence mothers to follow her lead, a move which would undoubtedly burn a sizable hole in Big Pharma's pockets.
'They clearly have too much time on their hands'
And recently, the agency expressed its concern via Twitter that The View's newest co-host could actually inspire parents to consider ditching vaccines because of their reported ties to childhood autism.
"Jenny McCarthy's anti-vaccine views = misinformation. Please ask The View to change their mind," the department tweeted. "Jenny McCarthy cites fraudulent research on vaccines & it's irresponsible to provide her with 'The View' platform."
It's not the first time TPH officials have made their "preferences" known. Per The Toronto Star:
Toronto Public Health has opinions on lots: speed limits (should be lowered), supervised drug injection sites (should be approved), restaurant menus (should include calorie counts), Halloween etiquette ("hand out stickers instead of sugary candy"). The rest of the government only sometimes agrees with its top doctor's prescriptions.
But this time the agency has adopted the Big Pharma lie that vaccines are safe and anyone who suggests otherwise is a whacko who wants to kill off the world.
"We have had a lot of inquiries about the possibility that The View TV program may be advancing inaccurate information about immunizations," TPH's assistant medical officer Barbara Yaffe said, explaining why adding McCarthy to program would be harmful.
Not everyone agrees. In fact, Toronto city councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong thinks it's wrong for the city agency to be using taxpayer money to attack a U.S. celebrity over anything.
"They clearly have too much time on their hands... [TPH should be concerned with] health issues in the city of Toronto that need serious action and consideration rather than starting campaigns against American television programs," he told The Star.
Then why is there a government slush fund for vaccine payouts?
Others have freaked out as well over the ABC decision.
"McCarthy is not expressing a disagreeable political position, she is spreading misinformation that has actual, tangible health risks. America's public health authorities should be sounding the alarm," Salon writer Alex Pareene has written recently [http://www.salon.com].
But the facts are not on the side of McCarthy's detractors. As InfoWars.com notes, if vaccines were as safe as everyone says, why would the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services need an independent arm whose sole function is to hand out cash settlements to people whose family members have been either killed or otherwise catastrophically damaged by vaccines?
"The Vaccine Injury Compensation Trust Fund provides funding for the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program to compensate vaccine-related injury or death claims for covered vaccines administered on or after October 1, 1988," the DHHS' National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program's website states [see it here: http://www.hrsa.gov].
Yes, that's right.
So the next time you hear someone trashing McCarthy or anyone who has expressed concern over, and doubts about, vaccines, think of the Vaccine Injury Compensation Trust Fund and the role of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.
