Tolerance? Vicious 'gay rights' aggressors attack preachers in public park
by J. D. Heyes
(NaturalNews) The progressive left is always talking about "tolerance" for their particular points of view, accusing anyone who doesn't agree with them of being intolerant, of course. The First Amendment's guarantees of freedom of opinion and expression, to them, only apply if you agree with the progressive left.
This attitude was typified recently by marchers in Seattle Pridefest, a rally hosted and largely attended by gays and lesbians, the weekend leading up to Independence Day, who savagely attacked and beat a Christian street preacher who dared to disagree.
Getting attacked for your point of view
Video of the incident (seen here) shows that, in the minutes before the beatings begin, a pair of street preachers - one holding a large sign and the other wearing a T-shirt with religious overtones - are repeatedly harassed by Pridefest attendees. When the punches began, one of the preachers was struck in the back of the head as others repeatedly kicked and hit him in the ribs as he knelt on the ground in pain.
The sign, while large, did not make any direct, inflammatory statements against any particular group, specifically homosexuals. But that didn't matter to many of the marchers.
At one point early in the video, an overweight man ripped off his shirt and began tried to confront the preachers along with another woman, both of whom broke off from the march to confront the counter-demonstrating street preachers. The one preacher wearing a "Trust Jesus" T-shirt tried to block the shoving with his Bible; both of the men tried to retreat from the confrontation.
Per Life Site News, which featured the video on its site:
The situation continues to heat up, until at one point a number of people attempt to snatch the sign away from the sign-wielding preacher. When one man succeeds, a melee ensues in which the angry man seen at the beginning of the video runs at and punches the preacher in the head several times while another kicks him repeatedly. Others attempted to break up the fight.
And InfoWars further described the action:
A short man knocked down the preacher holding the sign, taking it away from him as the heavy-set man sucker punched the preacher in the head. The short man showed no mercy as he kicked the now-down preacher in the ribs.
Only after the brutal assault on the preachers' right to free speech occurred did police - who were nearby the entire time - enter the fray. Many of the attackers fled quickly.
Life Site News reported that police arrested 36-year-old Jason Queree, "who is suspected of being the main attacker. Queree reportedly has a long history of arrests and convictions for a wide variety of criminal behavior. A second suspect was also arrested."
Fallen far from the tree of Liberty
The violent attack by members of a movement that has long "preached" tolerance and equality is similar to one at Pride 2012 in Toronto. There, activists verbally and physically assaulted (with a bottle of water) a preacher wielding a microphone who managed to keep his composure during the entire episode. In fact, at one point, the preacher even offered to turn over his mic to the opposition.
"If anyone wants to have a respectful conversation one by one, I'm going to lend the mike and we're going to go back and forth," he said. "Is that a deal?"
After one lady spoke her opinion using the preacher's mic, an Officer Adams with the Toronto Police walked over and intervened against the preacher.
"You're causing a disturbance right now," the cop told the preacher, David Lynn. "Guys, everybody, by staying and listening to it, you're helping him get his message out."
The preacher, naturally, accused Adams of taking sides. "I'm telling my religion," Lynn told the officer. "Is there something wrong with that?"
Apparently so; later, at the end of that video, Adams is heard telling Lynn to "pack it up."
In today's PC world, freedom of speech and expression is only permissible if the progressives allow it. How far from the tree of Liberty our country has fallen.
