HIV vaccine infects 41 volunteers, vaccine trials canceled

(NaturalNews) Yet another "experimental" vaccine for HIV has proven to be even more dangerous than the virus itself. At least 40 men participating in a taxpayer-funded government study entitled "HVTN 505 clinical trial," which began in 2009, were recently found to have contracted HIV from the vaccine itself, prompting an immediate end to the deadly trial.
Crafted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the study initially included more than 2,500 men from 19 cities. All the men admitted to either having sex with other men, or to having sex with transgender individuals. Half of the men were assigned to receive the experimental vaccine HVTN 505, while the other half was reportedly given a placebo vaccine with unknown contents.
However, a recent safety review conducted on April 22 revealed that 41 men in the HVTN 505 group contracted HIV despite having received the jab. Only 30 men in the placebo group, on the other hand, contracted HIV, which translates into a 37 percent increased risk of HIV among those who were vaccinated, a dismal statistic that was later revealed to be the result of complete vaccine failure.
According to the review, the HVTN 505 vaccine utterly failed to reduce the amount of HIV virus in the blood, also known as the "viral load." This is critical to its success, as the stated purpose of the vaccine was this very action. As a result, NIH announced that it would immediately stop administering the useless vaccine, which apparently tricked many study participants into believing they were protected.
"NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) remains committed to the pursuit of a highly effective, preventive HIV vaccine as part of a multifaceted HIV prevention research program," explained the division of the U.S. government responsible for the failed trial. NIAID also said it would continue to monitor the health of the study's participants for at least the next five years
Every single 'experimental' vaccine for HIV has failed
This is not the first time, of course, that an experimental vaccine for HIV has failed. Back in 2007, for instance, an experimental anti-AIDS vaccine known as V520, which was developed by drug giant Merck & Co., was scrapped during human clinical trials after it was discovered that the vaccine failed to prevent infection and decrease viral load. And again in 2008, another experimental AIDS vaccine was actually shown to make people more vulnerable to infection by HIV.
"It's unfortunate that it took an AIDS vaccine trial that made more people become infected to make people pay attention and stop this runaway train," said Michael Weinstein, president of the Los Angeles, Calif.-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation, back in 2008. "There's no validity in the underlying idea that there will be an AIDS vaccine."
But this obviously did not stop the federal government from shelling out $77 million collected from taxpayers to take another stab at an HIV vaccine. And once again, without fail, it has turned out to be a complete public health nightmare. The medical-industrial complex obviously did not learn its lesson - either that or there is a bigger conspiracy afoot with all this HIV vaccine insanity.
