Join me in suing the NSA over illegal spying, says Rand Paul

by Lance Johnson

(NaturalNews) As reports go main stream about the NSA spying on millions of Americans through massive phone and email surveillance programs, it seems like nothing is being done to stop this massive breach of privacy. As massive surveillance powers hover over Americans and people all across the world, how will this new age branch of government ultimately be held accountable? How can the NSA be held in check?

Maybe it's time to reopen the Constitution and start abiding by its principles. Maybe it's time to sue the NSA over its illegal spying. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is doing both and calling on millions of Americans to join him.

Obama plays the "keeping us safe from terrorists" card

Many elected leaders, including the President, say that spying on the people is necessary for security, and that Americans must shoulder the inconvenience and give up their privacy if they want to be safe from terrorists.

"I think it's important to recognize that you can't have 100 percent security and also then have 100 percent privacy and zero inconvenience," Obama said.

Many Americans are growing wary about claims like these. Obama's justification plays the same card the previous President played when he signed the "Patriot Act," which gave the government power to wiretap without a warrant.

Many Americans are starting to see right through the head games as their civil liberties are shredded and as the government gains more centralized power. In many ways, it feels like big government has become the real terrorist, taking away civil liberties and snooping into people's lives constantly. Many don't feel safe with their own government officials anymore, as emails are sifted through and phone calls monitored.

Rand Paul taking the issue all the way to the Supreme Court level

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is standing with the American people on this issue. Rand is calling on tens of millions of Americans to join him in a lawsuit that challenges the NSA's illegal spying. Paul is poised to take the issue all the way to the Supreme Court level and he is not alone. Hundreds of thousands of people have already joined him, as he challenges the powers that be.

Paul states, "I'm going to be asking all the internet providers and all of the phone companies - ask your customers to join me in a class action lawsuit. If we get ten million Americans saying we don't want our phone records looked at, then maybe someone will wake up and something will change in Washington."

Definitely not alone, Paul is joined by other prominent freedom fighters including Representatives Justin Amash (R-MI), Thomas Massie (R-KY.), Mick Mulvaney (R-SC), Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and Mark Sanford (R-SC), as well as representatives from Freedom Works, Campaign For Liberty, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Electronic Privacy Information Center, and Constitutional scholar Bruce Fein.

Paul has also introduced the Fourth Amendment Restoration Act of 2013, which ensures the Constitutional protections of the Fourth Amendment are not violated by any government entity.

It's sad that the Constitution has to be rewritten in order for the power players in Washington to abide by the rule of law.

Paul has been busy jack hammering at the concrete walls of big government ever since he's been elected. Most noteworthy is his opposition to the insane provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act, which provide the President the military authorization to detain and assassinate American citizens on US soil without a trial or due process of law.

It's time to challenge the law

Now is the time to challenge these new-age laws and stand by the Constitution.

Will you stand for your right to live freely, without government breathing down your neck and reading your thoughts?

With new-age laws like the "Patriot Act" and the NDAA running amok, if any government administration disagrees with what you believe or how you live your life, they could theoretically target you through NSA spying powers, deem you a terrorist, arrest, detain, or even assassinate you.

The loss of the Fourth Amendment is one of the most pressing issues of the time.

Please join Rand Paul and other civil liberties advocates as we all sue the NSA and a government addicted to its own power. http://www.rand-2016.com/nsa_lawsuit_signup16.aspx?pid=0610
