Real gun control: Cities, towns across US want teachers to bring concealed handguns to school for protection

(NaturalNews) The obvious ploy by the federal government to push sweeping new gun control measures following the alleged mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, appears to be backfiring, as many cities and towns across the U.S. are actually now encouraging more teachers to bring concealed handguns to school for protection. As reported by WFSB 3 News in Connecticut, one Texas town has already approved measures to allow its teachers to bring guns to school, and similar legislation is pending in Oklahoma, Missouri, Minnesota, South Dakota, Oregon and elsewhere.
As you may recall, the ever-evolving official story surrounding the Sandy Hook massacre basically alleges that a deranged young man single-handedly used a military-style weapon taken from his "prepper" mother's gun collection to kill her, himself and 26 students and teachers at the local elementary school on the morning of December 14. And this event, we are told, is so heinous in nature, despite its many inconsistencies, that all Americans should now be restricted from further owning and purchasing such weapons, including common handguns already owned by millions of Americans.
But the entire stunt -- be sure to check out Jon Rappoport's series of articles exposing the Sandy Hook hoax here, here and here to learn more -- which appears to have been designed for the sole purpose of scaring Americans into handing over their guns "for the sake of the children," appears to be achieving a much different outcome. Rather than push for more gun legislation, many Americans, including teachers and school district officials across the country, are actually seeking more access to guns because they recognize that law-abiding citizens can actually help stop mass shootings if they are secretly armed.
"We don't have money for a security guard, but this is a better solution," explained David Thweatt, the superintendent at Harrold Independent School District (ISD) in Harrold, Texas, to AP reporters about his district's unconventional gun policy. "A shooter could take out a guard or officer with a visible, holstered weapon, but our teachers have master's degrees, are older and have had extensive training. And their guns are hidden. We can protect our children."
States working to change anti-gun laws in favor of concealed carry freedom
Texas law still prohibits guns from public schools, of course, except in cases where a school gives specific, written authorization for concealed carry, as in the case of Harrold ISD. But Texas Governor Rick Perry has already expressed support following the Sandy Hook incident for new policies that would allow concealed weapons to be carried in any public place throughout the state, including in state-run public schools.
In Oklahoma, Representative Mark McCullough is currently working on a bill that would enact a similar policy in his state. Teachers and administrators that wish to carry concealed for their own protection and for the protection of their students would be permitted to do so under the new law, given they agree to receive special training through the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training. Similar permitting guidelines are already in place at Harrold ISD as well.
"I think it's a great idea for trained teachers to carry weapons," explained CaRae Reinisch, a resident of nearby Elliot, Texas. Reinisch actually took her children out of a larger school in her own town in order to send them to Harrold, specifically because Harrold allows its teachers to carry concealed weapons.
