Treat feline stomatitis naturally

(NaturalNews) Feline stomatitis is a very common and unpleasant malady for any self respecting cat to have. It is a result of the modern way of feline health care. Stomatitis is the inflammation of the mouth. Symptoms include redness and swelling of any surface. It is painful for the cat to eat, so they may look forward to their meal, eat a little, then run away, as if the food has hurt them.
When you try to examine the mouth, your cat will resist. It's painful to the touch. Left untreated, a secondary infection may result. Ulcers can form, making the cat drool.
Veterinary treatment is to start off with antibiotics. If this doesn't work or doesn't hold, they may increase the course or vary the antibiotic. Further treatment can involve the use of cortisone and tooth extraction.
None of these measures are addressing the cause of the problem. Medication lowers the immune system and are liver toxic, creating more problems. Surgery can be risky and is very invasive. Surely it's better to address the cause, rather than deal with the effects?
The alternative approach
When you talk to veterinarians who were in practice more than 50 years ago, they will tell you that they never saw a cat with stomatitis. So what has happened to cat health care in the intervening years?
Two important changes have occurred. The food has changed. And the medication has increased.
Let's deal with the food first. Most people feed their cats dried food, such as pellets or kibble. In doing so, they believe that they are not only providing their cat with a nutritious diet, but that crunching up on the pellets is good for their teeth and gums. After all, the packet tells you this is the case. If that were true, why has stomatitis developed?
The fact is cats need bones to crunch up on. Little bones. Kibble doesn't even come close. By introducing small bones into your cat's daily life, you can cure stomatitis, without any other treatment. The bones MUST be raw. Cooked bones can splinter and wreak havoc on your cat's intestines.
Medication suppresses the immune system. You want your cat to be healthy, so she can overcome problems on her own. By using natural therapies, such as homeopathy, you are boosting your cat's immune system. Homeopathy can cure stomatitis too, but unless you also change the diet, it will return.
Holistic veterinarians the world over promote a healthy, natural diet and healthy, natural therapies. By doing so, they have less work. But they prefer to tell you the truth and have a smaller income.
