Pinellas County Commission votes to remove toxic fluoride from water supply of more than 700,000 Floridians
by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer
(NaturalNews) More than 700,000 people living in Pinellas County, Fla., will no longer be forcefully medicated with fluoride chemicals via their public water supply, thanks to a recent decision made by the County Commission. The St. Petersburg Times (SPT) reports that, in a 4 - 3 vote, the Commission has decided to cease adding toxic fluoride to the county's water system, which will save the county about $205,000 a year.
The decision is significant, if not simply because of the sheer size of Pinellas County and its presence in the heart of the Tampa Bay metropolitan area. While many of the municipalities that have ended fluoridation in recent years have been relatively small in size, Pinellas County is a major urban area. Nearby Pasco County, which is home to roughly 500,000 people, also does not add fluoride to its water supply.
Included in the list of Pinellas County cities soon to be receiving non-fluoridated water are Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, and Seminole. The only cities not included in the recent decision, according to SPT, are St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Dunedin and Belleair, which all have their own separate water supplies.
Pinellas County joins College Station, Tex., Slave Lake, Can., Hohenwald, Tenn., Pottstown, Penn., Spring Hill, Tenn., and Philomath, Ore., all of whom have ended their water fluoridation programs as well within the past several months. There are currently efforts underway in New York City, Austin, Tex., and several other major cities to end water fluoridation as well. (http://www.fluoridealert.org/communities.htm).
"Fluoride is a toxic substance," Tony Caso, a resident of Palm Harbor, is quoted as saying to SPT. "This is all part of an agenda that's being pushed forth by the so-called globalists in our government and the world government to keep the people stupid so they don't realize what's going on."
Recent studies have shown that consuming fluoride chemicals, which are typically derived from the waste sludge left over from phosphate mining and aluminum production industries (http://www.naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=42652E035A...), significantly disrupts the developing brains of young children, and even causes brain damage and other neurological problems in adults. Fluoride consumption can also disrupt the endocrine system, impair proper thyroid function, and cause bone and other forms of cancer (http://www.fluoridealert.org/fluoride-danger...).
