TSA failure: Man successfully flies from NY to CA without ticket or ID
by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer
(NaturalNews) With the excessive security arsenal of X-ray machines, naked body scanners, and "enhanced" full-body pat-downs, one would think the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) would at least be able to make sure that travelers have valid tickets and proper identification before boarding airplanes.
But a recent report by CBS News in New York explains that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is looking into a case involving a man who had neither his ID or a valid ticket, and yet successfully made it past TSA screeners where he flew from John F. Kennedy (JFK) airport in New York to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in California.
Olajide Noibi, a Nigerian national, somehow successfully boarded Virgin American flight 415 last Friday using a fake University of Michigan ID card and an expired boarding pass that had someone else's name on it. In other words, while TSA agents were busy patting down grandma and demanding that special needs travelers remove their diapers, a foreign national with a fake college ID and a mismatched, outdated boarding pass was permitted to fly clear across the country without issue.
"I have never seen a case with so many unanswered questions," said Rep. Peter King, Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, who is calling for an internal investigation into the matter. "Nothing adds up here. All this can do is hurt morale. All this can do is hurt public confidence. And the public should be mad. There's no excuse for this."
Anyone who has ever traveled by airplane knows that only a government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport is accepted when going through the security line. A college ID on the other hand, which is very easily forged, is not an approved form of identification -- and yet for some reason TSA agents allowed Noibi to proceed to the boarding area using this obviously fraudulent document.
And if that is not bad enough, Noibi's phony, expired boarding pass was somehow accepted as well, despite the fact that most airlines actually scan the barcodes of passengers' tickets before permitting them to walk through the gate and board the plane. How Noibi managed to slip by this standard check-in procedure is anyone's guess, as it is virtually impossible apart from willful negligence for a situation like this to occur.
Even after the flight crew of the plane carrying Noibi became aware that he had illegally boarded, they proceeded to let him off the plane in LA free and clear, where he proceeded a week later to attempt the same stunt again, this time on a Delta Airlines flight headed to Atlanta, Ga. Security agents caught Noibi the second time, and took him into custody.
The incident is just one of many others in recent months that prove the total ineptitude of the TSA. It is either that, or a willful conspiracy to allow criminals and potential terrorists through the security line, while instead pulling aside innocent young children and senior citizens for strip searches. Whatever the case may be, it is abundantly clear that the TSA is unable to properly perform its security duties, and has made a complete joke of itself in the process.
Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.), a candidate running in the 2012 presidential election cycle (http://www.ronpaul2012.com/), recently proposed doing away with the TSA altogether, a proposition that we here at NaturalNews have made as well (http://www.naturalnews.com/032267_Bin_Laden_...).
"Ninety-five year-old woman humiliated; children molested; disabled people abused; men and women subjected to unwarranted groping and touching of their most private parts; involuntary radiation exposure," said Paul in his weekly "Straight Talk" telephone address, concerning the heinous actions of the TSA.
"If the perpetrators were a gang of criminals, their headquarters would be raided by SWAT teams and armed federal agents. Unfortunately, in this case the perpetrators are armed federal agents. This is the sorry situation ten years after the creation of the Transportation Security Administration."
Meanwhile, this same inept TSA is now warning the public that, get this, terrorists may begin trying to strap explosives to surgical augmentations such as breast and butt implants, and the agency may need to perform trace detection swabs on travelers (http://www.mercurynews.com/san-mateo-county/...).
Trace detection swabs involve literally swabbing the skin or other bodily apparatuses of passengers, and running those swabs through explosive trace detection (ETD) systems.
So the TSA is discontent with subjecting passengers to heavy blasts of ionizing radiation and groping their private parts -- the agency now wants to swab your body and run whatever it picks up through a scanning machine. And just why is the TSA worried about supposed implant explosives? Al Qaeda has allegedly been discussing the matter over in Yemen, and the TSA is merely responding to the threat.
There really could not have been a more convenient security threat development to try to justify the existence of the TSA, especially in the midst of continued controversy over the agency's complete failure to actually secure airports, and its propensity to sexually assault innocent travelers in the process.
Truth be told, we really do not need the TSA. The agency routinely violates personal privacy, and its existence is not even constitutionally legitimate. But as long as there is a steady stream of new threats, whether real or completely made-up, the federal government will attempt to hoodwink the public into accepting the abuse in the name of security and preventing terrorism.
