Tests reveal radioactive urine in Japanese residents
by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer
(NaturalNews) Doctors from Watari Hospital in Fukushima, Japan, recently conducted tests on residents living in two Japanese towns located about 25 miles from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility, and discovered that all of them had radioactive particles in their urine. This shocking discovery reveals just how widespread the nuclear catastrophe really is, and how its devastating implications will likely continue to persist indefinitely.
Nanao Kamada, professor emeritus of radiation biology at Hiroshima University, teamed up with Osamu Saito of Watari Hospital and several others to conduct the tests. The team performed two rounds of tests on 15 people ranging in age from 4 to 77, and found radioactive cesium in the urine of all of them both times. And the first round of tests revealed radioactive iodine as high as 3.2 millisieverts (mSv) in six of the individuals, while the second revealed none in any of them, likely due to that particle's eight-day half life.
"This won't be a problem if they don't eat vegetables or other products that are contaminated," said Kamada, referring to the levels that have already been detected. "But it will be difficult for people to continue living in these areas."
Kamada's statements, however, are somewhat comedic in their nonchalant tone. Considering the horrific reality of three confirmed melt-throughs (http://www.naturalnews.com/032657_Fukushima_...), and all that fuel seeping into groundwater and eventually into the ocean (http://www.naturalnews.com/032804_TEPCO_cont...), it is abundantly clear that residents really have no way to avoid contamination.
After all, would Kamada's same statements sound appropriate in a place like Afghanistan or Iran where civilians often have no way to escape the military fallout. "The war scenario won't be a problem as long as civilians don't get hit by bullets, rockets, grenades or bombs. But it will be difficult for people to continue living in those areas." See how ridiculous it sounds? And yet, a constant bombardment of radioactive "bullets and bombs," if you will, is striking the Japanese, as well as the rest of the world, every single day -- and there is really nothing anyone can do about it.
The fact that researchers have found radioactive urine is not really a surprise in light of everything taking place at Fukushima. In fact, if Americans, and specifically those living in West Coast states, had their urine tested for radiation, they might be surprised to see the results.
