Join the Rally for Food and Farm Freedom in DC on May 16
by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer
(NaturalNews) The freedom to grow, sell, and buy clean food is under serious attack. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has made it clear that the agency is not a friend of food freedom and that it is willing to do whatever it takes to go after those involved in the "Slow Food" movement in order to protect corporate interests.
In response to this increasing FDA tyranny against traditional food, a group of food freedom advocates is holding a "Rally for Food and Farm Freedom" in Washington, DC, on May 16, 2011, and you can help lend your support by attending or offering financial assistance.
Last summer, FDA agents raided the farm of Dan Allgyer, a Pennsylvania Amish farmer whom the agency accused of illegally selling raw milk across state lines. Raw milk sales are legal in Pennsylvania, but agents illegally drove onto Allgyer's properly one morning and falsely accused him of violating interstate commerce laws. In the process, they stole pictures and other materials, and threatened to take "regulatory action" if Allgyer failed to take proper "corrective action" (http://www.naturalnews.com/029322_raw_milk_A...).
A month prior, armed government agents swarmed and raided Rawesome Foods, a private food buying club in Venice, Calif., on similar grounds. Raw milk sales are legal in California as well, but undercover agents allegedly tricked Rawesome employees in order to entrap them, and later came and stole thousands of dollars in product and personal property, and made threats against the club for alleged violations (http://www.naturalnews.com/029322_raw_milk_A...).
And again in October, the FDA collaborated with state officials to raid Morningland Dairy, a farm in Missouri that had supplied products for Rawesome. Even though there was no actual health threat, and no legitimate reason to even conduct the raid in the first place, agents showed up at Morningland Dairy one autumn day and demanded that its owners destroy 50,000 pounds of perfectly good raw cheese valued at $250,000 (http://www.naturalnews.com/030148_Morninglan...).
These and many other incidents have become the norm, it seems, as the FDA is increasingly bearing down on those that dare to buck the conventional food system. So food freedom advocates are banding together to put on the Rally for Food and Farm Freedom at Upper Senate Park on May 16 to push for justice. The event will feature Jonathan Emord, an attorney who has done much to help the natural health community, as well as Sally Fallon, President of the Weston A. Price Foundation, Mark McAfee, Founder and Owner of Organic Pastures Dairy, and several others.
