(NaturalNews) Are you an American who observes, enjoys and takes full advantage of your right to "keep and bear arms," as enumerated under the Second Amendment to the Constitution?
If so, you're little more than a
degenerate Islamic terrorist, like those who just killed 14 citizens in San Bernardino, Calif., this month and wounded 17 more. That's according to the journalistic trolls at the
New York Daily News which, at last glance
was circling the drain.
Using its front page recently to label National Rifle Association President Wayne LaPierre – a tireless Second Amendment advocate – a terrorist, the journalistic delinquents on the editorial staff went on to claim he was running a "sick jihad" against the country.
As further noted by
GovtSlaves.info:
"The front page of the November 23 edition featured artwork with La Pierre's head superimposed on the body of a terrorist. The terrorist was carrying a semiautomatic rifle and wearing an NRA patch on his uniform. It featured the despicable headline, 'Nowhere to Hide, Jihadi Wayne.'
"It was a reference to Jihadi John – the nickname Britain's tabloid press put on notorious ISIS executioner Mohammed Emwazi. Emwazi was reportedly killed by a drone operated by British SAS commandos last month. Emwazi was infamous for executing people with swords on ISIS propaganda videos."
Editorial staff of the NYDN sick, deluded Marxists
Then, on the front page of the Dec. 4 edition, editors featured photos of five mass murderers: San Bernardino gunman Syed Farook (an
actual terrorist); Planned Parenthood shooter Robert Dear; Charleston church killer Dylann Roof, a racist; Newtown school shooter Adam Lanza; and Aurora movie massacre perp James Holmes, under the headline that said, "These guys" are all terrorists. A picture of LaPierre was also featured, with the additional headline, "And This Guy" too.
Under the pictures were these words: "Syed Farook joins long list of murderous psychos enabled by NRA's sick
gun jihad against America in the name of profit."
The only thing "sick" here are the warped, Marxist minds of the NYDN editorial staff – a staff that would unquestionably target anyone attempting to suggest that Americans taking advantage of their First Amendment rights were somehow "terrorists" – though the paper's treatment of LaPierre and all American gun owners comes pretty close to journalistic terrorism.
As quoted by
GovtSlaves.info, Rod Dreher of
The American Conservative wrote that, although he doesn't agree with everything the NRA proposes, he believes the NYDN editors were overboard in their characterization of LaPierre.
"Let's think about this: the front page of the fifth-largest newspaper in
America has labeled the strongest defender of Second Amendment rights in the country a 'terrorist' — and says he's no better than ISIS. ...
"The idea that a man who advocates for a Constitutionally guaranteed liberty can be denounced not in an Internet comment box, but on the front page of a major American newspaper, as a 'terrorist' — that is fairly unnerving to me," he wrote.
Weaponization of language
None of this should be dismissed or discounted in any way by
any American who is seriously concerned, not only about the ability to protect themselves and the country if necessary, but also about
the future of governing this country.
These kinds of wildly inaccurate claims and personal attacks aren't "journalism" – they are the weaponization of key words and phrases, aimed at stifling legitimate debate, while demonizing entire classes of people. That's deadly dangerous, because in the end, as we have seen, the purveyors of political correctness have so demonized debate
that some Americans are willing to let their fellow citizens die rather than speak out and report obvious suspicions.
I don't expect the Left-wing whack jobs on the editorial staff at the slowly dying
New York Daily News to understand the implications of what they are doing, much less work to deescalate political tensions and reduce the tenor of debate, especially at a time when defense of Americans and the country ought to be the priority. But that's because it would take a responsible journalism operation to make those changes, and as we can see, that quality is extinct at the NYDN.
