Black student threatens to execute 16 whites at University of Chicago

University of Chicago

(NaturalNews) Frustrated by the slow pace of "change," or perhaps emboldened by the lack of spine shown by scores of university administrators in recent months when confronted with unreasonable demands from racialist groups, a black student attending the University of Chicago recently threatened to kill 16 white students.

As reported by Breitbart News and the Chicago Tribune, the student labeled Caucasian peers "white devils," and said his motive was revenge for the death of Laquan McDonald, who was shot 16 times by a Chicago Police officer.

"This is my only warning. At 10AM Monday morning, I'm going to the campus quad of the University of Chicago. I will be armed with an M-4 carbine and two desert eagles, all fully loaded. I will execute approximately 16 white male students and or staff, which is the same number of time McDonald was killed," the Tribune reported.

"I will then die killing any number of white policeman [sic] in the process," the message continued. "This is not a joke. I am to do my part and rid the world of white devils. I expect you do the same."

The threat was posted to a website called worldstarhiphop.com in recent days; a reader of the site phoned the FBI and, after day-long discussions between the FBI and local police officials, university President Robert Zimmer made a decision to cancel classes the following Monday.

'I did it'

"Based on the FBI's assessment of this threat and recent tragic events at other campuses across the country, we have decided in consultation with federal and local law enforcement officials, to exercise caution by canceling all classes and activities on the Hyde Park campus through midnight on Monday," said Zimmer in an online post at the university's site.

McDonald, 17, was shot and killed by police in October 2014, but the administration of Mayor Rahm Emanuel held off releasing a video showing the killing until just recently, a decision that has been heavily criticized, especially by many in the black community. The officer accused of shooting McDonald has been charged with first degree murder.

Initially, authorities did not release the name of the black student who made the threat to kill 16 whites, but within days of the threat the U.S. Attorney's office for the Northern District of Illinois issued a press release naming Jabari R. Dean, 21, in connection with the post, and stating that he had been arrested "without incident."

Prosecutors have charged Dean with "transmitting a threat in interstate commerce," which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison if he is convicted and sentenced to the full extent of the law. The Tribune reported later that Dean did not have the weapons he allegedly said he would use to murder the white students.

Racially-motivated killings aren't good for anyone

According to the federal criminal complaint, Dean admitted when confronted about it by FBI agents, that he had made the threat using a cell phone. He told authorities that he had personally removed it shortly after posting it, but before he did so, someone had transmitted a screenshot of the post to the Feds.

After Dean was arrested, Zimmer announced on the school's website that classes would resume.

"We are deeply grateful to the University of Chicago Police Department, the FBI, the Chicago Police Department, and other law enforcement offices for their timely, professional, and effective response to this security concern," he wrote.

There's no question that Dean and other blacks are upset about what happened to McDonald, and they have a right to be. But to want to exact revenge on an ethic group – in this case, whites – for the killing is just as inflammatory, if not more so. If anything, blacks ought to be demanding Emmanuel's job since he made the decision to delay release of the criminal evidence (probably because it involved his police force). All that did was make a bad situation worse, and added to blacks' concerns that authorities cannot be trusted.
