(NaturalNews) Just days after airing an important segment about a new International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) report[PDF] which found that glyphosate in Monsanto's Roundup herbicide causes cancer, cardiothoracic surgeon and television personality Dr. Mehmet Oz became an instant target of the chemical mafia, which is now falsely accusing him of being a quack in a lame attempt at destroying his reputation.

Dr. Henry Miller from Stanford University is spearheading the ill-willed campaign to have Dr. Oz removed from his post as vice chairman of Columbia University's department of surgery in New York City, claiming that Dr. Oz is "a quack and a fake and a charlatan." According to Dr. Miller, the only reason that Dr. Oz is still working at Columbia is because he's a popular TV icon.

It couldn't be because Dr. Oz has been a well-respected and highly skilled heart surgeon at Columbia since 1993, long before he was given his own television show -- no, it's a big conspiracy, in Dr. Miller's view, involving Columbia's need to hang out with the cool kids in order to feel popular and relevant (or maybe it's just Dr. Miller projecting his own jealousy and envy that he doesn't have his own television show pushing pharmaceutical quackery?).

Nevertheless, this baseless attack by Dr. Miller comes as Dr. Oz has boldly drawn national attention to the glyphosate scam, warning his viewers that this prominent herbicide chemical, which is sprayed on factory farms, public parks and even people's yards, is potentially deadly.

"This isn't just another study," stated Dr. Alan Greene, a prominent pediatrician who's been studying the use of pesticides in foods for more than 20 years, to Dr. Oz about the groundbreaking findings of the new report, which is corroborated by the World Health Organization (WHO).

"This is IARC. This is the world's leading experts. It's not the policymakers or regulators saying what should we do; it's not the chemical industry; it's people with one question -- can this chemical cause cancer in people? And they gave it one of their highest levels of concern."

Dr. Henry Miller is a chief opponent of GMO labeling; of course he hates Dr. Oz!

Not surprisingly, Dr. Miller has his own ax to grind being a slash-and-burn, drug-peddling quack doctor himself whose conventional, outmoded approaches to therapy are threatened by the information often presented on Dr. Oz's show. Dr. Miller is also a heavy proponent of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), having penned an op-ed letter to the San Francisco Chronicle back in 2012 opposing California's Proposition 37 GMO labeling bill.

Equally questionable in terms of his blatant conflicts of interest is Dr. Gilbert Ross, executive director of the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH) and co-signer of Dr. Miller's letter to have Dr. Oz removed from Columbia. ACSH, in case you were unaware, is hardly the "independent, science-based organization" that it claims to be. As explained here by PR Watch, the group is "a consumer front organization for its business backers," which include the Koch brothers, Syngenta, Bayer CropScience, CropLife America and many other major purveyors of chemical poisons.

In other words, Dr. Henry Miller, ACSH, and the various others signing on to this ridiculous petition to have Dr. Oz demoted simply because he presents science that conflicts with the establishment narrative are nothing but chemical industry hacks gasping for their last breaths as they fade away into irrelevance.

Columbia has since stated that it plans to keep Dr. Oz on board, despite the letter.
