(NaturalNews) When totalitarians like President Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder begin to lose Hollywood, you know that liberty is truly in danger of becoming extinct in America.

Recently, during an interview with a local Philadelphia radio station, comedic actor Rob Schneider sounded much like the "right-wing extremists" who have, for years, been warning that Obama's executive actions and those of his imperial attorney general are transforming our constitutional republic into a fascist entity.

'Democracies don't end well

Schneider told Talk Radio 1210 WPHT's Chris Stigall that today, more than ever, because of the hyper-sensitive (read: overly politically correct) social environment, comedians (and ordinary Americans) struggle mightily to present acceptable material. In particular, Schneider sounded ominous when discussing America's current path.

"Democracies don't end well. We are sliding very fast towards fascism. It's an ugly kind of thing. There's this kind of mob mentality that we have to be careful of," he said.

He added that he believes comedians in particular are pressured to present material that is skewed toward one side of the political spectrum (and it isn't to the right, if that gives you a hint).

"There's a polarization that's happening... I do think you look can look at government and go, 'Wow, it is out of control now,' and if you do criticize or tend to be not directly along a liberal stand, you can get murdered," Schneider said.

The comedic actor was particularly critical of Obama's handling of the economy. He says he is certain that the president's policies are hurting businesses and Americans trying to find sustaining work.

"There's not one segment of business under the Obama administration that hasn't been hurt... he attacks for-profit schools, which is totally an elitist thing from a guy that went to Harvard. I think for free, by the way," Schneider said.

Schneider also called out the mainstream media for being too influenced by liberal government policies and for not standing up for the American people, which was the founding fathers' intent for a free press (to serve as a watchdog on government, not as a lapdog for its policies).

"We don't really have freedom of the press. It's owned by about eight different companies, and it doesn't really express or help the average American," Schneider stated.

This isn't the first time in recent history that people from the entertainment industry have criticized left-wing politics. In February, Film Works, an entertainment industry lobbying and advocacy group, launched an online petition asking California's film and TV backers and enthusiasts to press the Assembly and Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown for greater incentives, so they could keep production of films and programming within the state's borders.

Entertainment folks worry about losing their industry
Under the uber-left-wing Democratic leadership in California, operating costs there have exploded over the past decade, thanks largely to tax increases, hikes in fees and regulations that add expenses to all businesses. Meanwhile, other states and countries have implemented film tax credits and other inducements to lure production companies to their turf.

If California does not pass similar legislation, Film Works warned, the state will lose hold of one of its most iconic industries, The Daily Caller reported.

"We are now greatly concerned that the state's status as the epicenter for motion picture production is at risk," the online petition reads.

"If policymakers fail to make our state more competitive, the film industry in California will face the same fate as other industries, including aerospace, which resulted in hundreds of thousands of jobs permanently leaving California for other states."

"It's time for California to wake up," one of the group's blog posts said.

The decline of the film industry in the state which birthed it has been hard for a number of entertainment folks to ignore, The DC reported.
