Elite tactical team was ordered to stand down at Navy Yard shooting - but why?

by J. D. Heyes

(NaturalNews) Is it even possible to fathom that an elite police tactical team available to respond quickly to the Washington Navy Yard shootings last week was recalled for the sinister purpose of allowing casualties to be increased - all to help advance a political agenda?

Our rationality and reason tell us that no, in America, such things do not and cannot happen. And yet, these days, it might not be as difficult to do as it may be for us to wrap our minds around such a thing, especially when we know that our very own government was intentionally permitting Mexican drug cartels to arm themselves with semi-automatic, military look-alike weapons by the thousands - some of which were used to kill a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

USA Today reports:

The U.S. Capitol Police have launched an investigation into whether an elite tactical team was abruptly recalled from responding to Monday's Navy Yard shooting massacre before D.C. Metropolitan Police officers confronted the shooter.

Two Metropolitan Police officers entered the Navy Yard without the Capitol Police team and one was wounded by the gunman, Aaron Alexis.

'They were ordered to disengage and turn back'

It wasn't as if the elite Capitol Police units weren't close by. In fact, the units - known as Capitol Police Containment & Emergency Response Teams - are based just a few blocks from the Navy Yard. But that they were recalled is now the subject of an inquiry ordered by Chief Kim Dine; the inquiry's findings are to be reported by Oct. 21.

"A law enforcement source told WUSA-TV that the unit was less than 30 seconds from the gate and responded as Metropolitan Police pleaded for help," USA Today added.

Another officer told the station that a Capitol Police watch commander "wouldn't let them go in and stop people from being slaughtered."

Yet another officer told The Washington Post that the officers' union has filed a complaint.

"We were definitely the closest tactical team in the city," the unidentified officer told the newspaper. "It was at the scene very early on, within a couple of minutes. They were ordered to disengage and turn back. For what reason, we don't know."

Capitol Police said that the department had "offered and provided mutual support and assistance."

"I take our response to this tragedy and our support to law enforcement partners very seriously," Dine said in a separate statement. "While I am the Chief of Police, at my core I am a police officer who feels strongly about our shared commitment and responsibilities. ... I place a high priority on law enforcement agency relationships and law enforcement coordination and communication."

That doesn't at all jibe with what allegedly happened, however. Though Dine said he "personally offered assets" to the D.C. police chief, Cathy Lanier, and that he was "in close and constant coordination" with D.C. Police, the Capitol Police Board, the FBI, Park Police and other responding agencies - someone apparently ordered the elite team to stand down.

But why?

'The epitome of insanity'

There are three teams, USA Today reported. Two of them were on duty the day of the shooting and the third was training at nearby Fort Meade, the Post reported.

The Post added a few more details:

A U.S. Capitol police tactical team rushed to the Washington Navy Yard minutes after the first shootings were reported Monday but was ordered to retreat by one of its commanders, according to a Capitol police officer familiar with the incident.

The officer said he did not know if the Capitol police would have entered the building along with D.C. and U.S. Park Police officers, or if D.C. police had asked them to respond. He said the team drove away from the scene as hundreds of law enforcement officers were arriving.

If this turns out to be true and, worse, a politically motivated decision, the person responsible for it should be summarily arrested and charged with accessory to murder. To allow people to be killed just to advance an agenda is the epitome of insanity.
