Kelp noodles for weight loss? These noodles have just six calories per serving

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) I love to eat noodles, but I don't like all the carbs that go along with them. They're starchy, loaded with calories, and they really pack on the body fat if you eat too many. That's why I got really excited about what I'm about to share with you here: Kelp noodles are made from seaweed and contain virtually no starches and only six calories per serving.

Yep, you read that right: 6 calories. Not 60 or 600. But six. You can eat all these noodles you want, in virtually unlimited quantities because you'll feel physically full before you can take in enough calories to increase body fat. (Don't try to live off these alone, however. They do NOT contain the broad spectrum of phytonutrients needed to provide a balanced, healthy diet just by themselves.)

An entire bag of these kelp noodles contains only 18 calories (yes, the entire bag!). That's 12 ounces of food with only 18 calories total. Compare that to any noodle product on the market...

What are kelp noodles?

These are soft, somewhat watery noodles made from sea kelp. In fact, they contain only three ingredients: Water, Kelp and Sodium Alginate (made from brown seaweed). That's it!

They're a raw, mineral-rich food that you can use much like regular noodles to make spaghetti, raw noodle salads, noodle soups and much more. You can stir-fry these noodles or use them in a casserole. I personally like to use them on top of steamed broccoli and other vegetables to make a late-night snack that's rich in minerals but virtually devoid of calories.

Now, these kelp noodles don't taste like starchy noodles made from wheat, of course. They're not starchy or gummy like wheat noodles. They're slightly crunchy (even though they're mostly liquid), and are far stronger than wheat noodles. So you can boil them in soups for as long as you want and they still hold together. Don't expect them to taste exactly like wheat noodles, however, because they're quite different.

Raw foodies love these noodles because they're a raw, mineral rich food made from sea vegetables. They like to use them in salads, raw soups and even guacamole!

Here's an awesome page with recipes and photos of these kelp noodles in several innovative food dishes: http://www.reallyrawfood.com/fruity-subjects...

As the author says on that page, these kelp noodles have a neutral flavor, meaning they pick up whatever flavors you use with them -- salty, tangy or even sweet.

Outstanding for weight loss or blood sugar control

These kelp noodles offer fantastic support for those looking to control their weight or blood sugar levels. Because kelp noodles have virtually no calories (just 6 calories per serving) and contain only 1 gram of carbohydrate per serving (yes, just one), they can be part of a healthy plan for sensible weight control and blood sugar control.

Starchy noodles and pasta made from wheat can spike blood sugar levels, resulting in increased insulin production and body fat storage. That's why people looking to lose weight don't pig out on pasta!

These kelp noodles give you an easy way to eat a large mass of noodles without a large associated calorie count. For those who are counting calories and trying to either maintain weight or restrict their calories for long-term weight loss, being able to enjoy food that doesn't add to your waist line is a remarkable thing, indeed!

They're actually quite affordable, especially at the sale price we've got going right now. They contain no fat and absolutely no chemical additives or preservatives. They're also made in the USA, by the way, right out of California from a company called Sea Tangle.

This is a really fantastic food for health-conscious eaters. I'm really glad I was introduced to these noodles, and I'm finding all sorts of new ways to use them! I think you will, too.

Enjoy!
