Even White Supremacists often found to be of African ancestry… Can we stop the racial hatred already?
08/23/2017 // JD Heyes // Views

In a country as multi-culturally diverse as the United States, race, creed, color, ethnicity and national origin are not supposed to matter. We are all supposed to be equal — in the eyes of the law and throughout society — as our Constitution recognizes and our culture demands.

So why are we allowing a small group of extremists on the right and left to divide us along racial and ethnic lines — when race and ethnicity isn’t supposed to matter?

Besides, as reported by the U.K.’s Daily Mail, those among us who want to claim racial purity and dominance aren’t even genetically capable of doing so. The paper notes:

White nationalists who have been flocking to genetic ancestry tests to prove their 'whiteness' are being disappointed.

American's fascination with heritage has seen a boom in the genetic testing industry  - which now offers consumers the chance to learn their ancestry with a simple 'spit test' for just over $100.

Yes — white supremacists who are partly responsible for our racial division are attempting to “prove” how white they are with genetic testing. What they are discovering is that they are just like the rest of us: Human.

Even if they don’t act like it.

Fact is, two-thirds of white supremacists using genetic testing to assess their level of “purity” have discovered that they are descended from other races, sometimes even those native to Sub-Saharan Africa. But even scientific data hasn’t convinced them, according to a study by sociologists Aaron Panofsky and Joan Donovan, who examined posts on neo-Nazi website Stormfront, as noted by StatNews. Many are dismissing the findings of genetic testing as “statistic noise,” in the words of noted white supremacist Craig Cobb; others claim the findings are part of a Jewish conspiracy “that is trying to confuse true white Americans about their ancestry.”

Still others dismiss the findings as meaningless, claiming they don’t matter as long as someone is truly committed to the white nationalist cause.

“They will say things like, ‘If you see a Jew in the mirror looking back at you, that’s a problem; if you don’t, you’re fine,’” said Panofsky, a sociologist at UCLA’s Institute for Society and Genetics.

Just like many white supremacists are finding they have elements of black and brown ethnicities within their lineage, it’s likely blacks who are racist towards whites share genetic similarities with Caucasians.

The point is, with nearly everyone on the planet sharing mixed ethnic heritage we can deduce that racism isn’t genetic, it’s learned, favored, and intentionally practiced. (Related: Trump clarifies Charlottesville violence: ‘Alt-Left’ just as responsible; media and RINOs freak out.)

Following the recent ugliness in Charlottesville, Va., former President Obama tweeted out a Nelson Mandela quote about racism:

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion…" the former president tweeted — ironic, given his constant complaining that America was still a “racist country,” which did nothing to bring people together, even as his supporters now complain that President Donald J. Trump is dividing the country (when all he did was point out the truth, that racist-oriented elements on both the Left and Right are dividing our people).

Even without the genetic test to prove it, humans are all made the same. What’s more, we have been given the gift of thought and rationality, yet so often we simply refuse to use either. (See more of this kind of truth at Truth.news)

Obama is right in that, yes, we’re not born hating people; we have to be taught to hate. And as Mandela said, we can also be taught to love. It’s a choice we have, and we’ve always had it.

This isn’t about politics. It’s not about “left” or “right.” It’s about living on the same planet, as fellow human beings, and how we choose to treat others.
