Back in the spring, angry mobs of black students and their enablers began marching around Evergreen provoking and making racist demands of all white students and faculty members. They even went so far as to demand that all whites observe the so-called "Day of Absence," a day at Evergreen in which all whites were expected to stay home and not attend classes for the purpose of "explor[ing] issues of race, equity, allyship [sic], inclusion and privilege."
Prof. Weinstein wrote an email decrying these insane demands, noting that one's right to speak or be present on campus "must never be based on skin color." Such an aggressive proposal by Black Lives Matter activists to silence and punish whites for their alleged acts of oppression, he added, represent "an act of oppression in and of itself."
The only voice of reason on Evergreen's far gone communist campus, Prof. Weinstein was chided by many of his fellow faculty members and students rather than praised for his taking a stand against anti-white racism and domestic terrorism by Black Lives Matter lunatics. And in the months to follow, Prof. Weinstein endured a barrage of discriminatory treatment and threats that he says forced him to seek sanctuary away from Evergreen.
"Through a series of decisions made at the highest levels, including to officially support a day of racial segregation, the College has refused to protect its employees from repeated provocative and corrosive verbal and written hostility based on race, as well as threats of physical violence," reads Weinstein's claim against the school.
Black Lives Matter activists haven't been the only racists to target Weinstein, according to reports. A Jewish group on Evergreen's campus reportedly penned its own correspondence, entitled "A Letter to the campus and Bret Weinstein from some Jews bent on the destruction of White Supremacy," that derides Prof. Weinstein for refusing to be bullied over the color of his skin. As received by Campus Reform, the letter states:
"We want to talk about the ways that Weinstein is positioning himself as a Jew to invalidate the claims of racism being raised against him. Bret Weinstein is wrong, he has put you in danger, and we will not allow him to hide behind our histories in order to dodge responsibility for his abhorrent and reprehensible words and actions."
The letter went on to demand that all police and law enforcement officers be immediately removed from campus, and that Prof. Weinstein be fired. It concluded with the statement, "BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!"
All of this and more is what ultimately brought Prof. Weinstein and his wife to the breaking point. Such a hostile campus environment is hardly conducive for learning, and in more ways than one represents a threat to both the livelihoods and safety of white professors and white students.
According to Prof. Weinstein's attorney, Evergreen has "failed to set and enforce necessary boundaries in the workplace on campus, selectively has chosen not to enforce its student Code of Conduct, and sent the unmistakable message that the school will tolerate (and even endorse) egregious violations (and even crimes) purportedly to advance racial social goals, diminishing the collegiate experience for all, and fostering a racially hostile work and retaliatory environment for faculty and staff."
